Recipes from Claudia & Julia's first Showcooking in Madrid, with WMF
A week ago we were in Madrid. We went to none other than the Miele facilities in Alcobendas, with the WMF team and two collaborators I greatly appreciate, Miriam and Carmen, to enjoy a fabulous afternoon.
Lemon slush with ice cream maker
Few things are more refreshing when the heat hits than a granita, and if it’s homemade and lemon, even better. The perfect way to start and keep going!
Sorbets and granitas differ from ice cream, in general, in that they contain no dairy (nor egg in the case of custard-style ice creams), so they are much less creamy and tend to produce a icier sensation. But for that very reason they’re perfect for hot weather.
Banana Bread
And I'm sure it has happened to all of us at some point: buying bananas and everyone at home deciding they don't want to eat them that week… And the poor things just sit in the fruit bowl looking very unappetizing. Well, this banana bread is undoubtedly the solution!
Tropézienne Tart
The origin of this tart lies in Saint-Tropez where, in the 1950s, Polish pastry chef Alexandre Miccka prepared and sold a delicate brioche filled with cream. The invention was so delicious that even Brigitte Bardot fell for it. In fact, it was the actress who suggested the name “Tarte Tropézienne”, which today is both a recipe and a registered trademark and remains as popular as ever.
Rosemary and basil butter
I love herbs; I use them for almost everything in the kitchen. Some, like basil, I can't get year-round, while others I always have available in a pot… like rosemary.
In general, herbs are usually sold in trays that contain more than we'll need. Many times, just as happens with bunches of parsley, the herbs end up spoiling inside the refrigerator.
Greek yogurt ice cream
For years I had been chasing an ice cream maker like the one I used to make the recipe I'm bringing you today; at home I drove them crazy with my refrain of... I want an ice cream maker with a compressor!, they didn't pay much attention so I decided to solve the problem. Gelato Expert from Magimix arrived at home, that longed-for ice cream maker that helps me have delicious ice cream without much fuss.
Thai Monkfish Cocotte
I love trying new recipes. At home they always reproach me for not making that milk bread with such a tender crumb anymore, or that banana ice cream that turned out so delicious. Sometimes I try so many things that I forget to cook the everyday, simple dishes.
Lemon yogurt with lemon cream
Are you someone who eats yogurt frequently? If so, making yogurt at home is the best solution — not only because you choose the ingredients you use and can forget about flavorings, preservatives and the whole string of additives, but because it couldn’t be any simpler.
Mediterranean Layered Bread
We bring a layered bread recipe, but to make it to your liking this time we give you homework: you'll have to think about which flavors are your favorites to round off the finish. Are you up for trying it?
Wok-sautéed radicchio with green beans and oranges
Did you know that we spend between 30-50% of our time daydreaming? That without realizing it we get distracted and are absorbed in a stream of internal thought unrelated to external stimuli? We spend so much time like this that it has even been said to be the default state of our brain.
Mushroom Burger
They say this burger isn’t just any burger... It’s the deluxe edition! A vegetarian burger with marinated mushrooms, grilled on the grill. Honestly, if you’re tired of the original version or simply want to try a new recipe, this one is well worth it.

You can steam super-fluffy sponge cakes. You can do this either in a pressure cooker or in other utensils designed for steaming. In this case, we will show you how to do it in the WMF Olla Vitalis.
