Egg Recipes
You'll have to forgive me, the post title is blunt: today I'm bringing you a bunch of recipes for your meals and dinners with eggs — lots of eggs!
What am I talking about? It turns out that every second Friday of October (in this case, today, October 11), is International Egg Day, and we have plenty of recipes to celebrate it... and enjoy it at the table!
Panna cotta with strawberry sauce
Panna cotta (which is nothing more than "cooked cream" in Italian) is typical of the Italian Piedmont. It is one of those desserts that always work well and tend to be liked by everyone.
One of its advantages is that it doesn't need an oven; a saucepan and a little heat do wonders for this dessert that has a thousand and one variations. Its texture is similar to that of flan, but here we don't use eggs or an oven as I mentioned before, so the preparation process is much simpler.
Homemade vanilla custard
Today I’ll show you how to make wonderful homemade vanilla-flavored custards that don’t taste like egg. Once you make them at home, they’ll become one of your go-to recipes, since they’re nothing like the ones bought at supermarkets.
Revolconas Potatoes
Today Luisa (author of Cocinando con mi Carmela) brings us the recipe to make patatas revolconas. You may know them better as patatas revueltas, or patatas meneadas (pronounced meneás) or stirred. Use whichever title you prefer — patatas revolconas are a dish full of flavor that everyone at home will enjoy.
Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Patry, author of Sabores y Momentos, brings us the traditional carrot and raisin cake in mini and full cake versions: turn the mini-carrot cakes into a multi-tier cake covered in cream cheese and coconut. A tender, delicious cake that will surely be a hit if you give it that beautiful finish.
Traditional custard with cookie
Natillas are one of those desserts we absolutely must know how to make. They are very easy and quick to prepare and have nothing to do with the ones you can find in the supermarket.
Baked eggs with faux morcilla
A few days ago, browsing Instagram, I found a very curious recipe that I didn't know: summer morcilla or fake morcilla. It is a typical recipe from Murcia that is made during the summer season. Its peculiarity is that it contains no meat at all, but rather is made with onion, eggplant, pine nuts and spices. The same ones used in the morcilla produced in the region, hence its name.
