When I discovered this recipe, I knew everyone at home was going to be thrilled with it. From choosing the ingredients to the last bite, we've all enjoyed it like little kids. I think it's a great option to make and savor as a family, whether you cook it in your home kitchen or on the campsite barbecue. I promise you that this grilled spiral butifarra it's awesome. You have to try it!
To avoid burning your fingers as soon as it’s ready and cut up, I suggest serving it with a good loaf or baguette, preferably homemade or from your favorite bakery. Placing a piece of the butifarra sausage, with its peppers and melted cheese, on a slice of bread, I think it adds an extra touch of flavor and it also helps you eat it a bit more comfortably. Although that’s not always the most important thing, because part of the experience is finishing the bite by licking your fingers.

Ingredients
For 4 people
- 1 whole fresh or country-style butifarra sausage
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 1 large green asparagus spear
- 3 slices of Tomme cheese with fine herbs
- 1 handful of fresh basil leaves
- Dried thyme
Preparation
- Wash the peppers and, with a sharp knife, like the De Buyer Asian chef's knife, cut them into strips about 1 cm wide. Set aside.
- Remove the toughest end from the asparagus and slice it lengthwise into 4 strips.
- Brush with oil your De Buyer iron frying pan with perforated base (which, besides chestnuts, is also perfect for cooking vegetables on the barbecue) and put it on the grill. When it's hot, add the peppers and the cut asparagus, sprinkle a little dried thyme and sauté.
- While the vegetables roast, cut the cheese into rectangles, as you see in the video.
- Coil the butifarra sausage into a spiral and distribute the pieces of cheese along the inside, following the shape of the coil.
- Insert the basil leaves in the same way and repeat the process with the roasted peppers and asparagus. It should be well filled.
- Now skewer the butifarra with 3 stainless steel skewers so everything stays in place.
- Place the butifarra sausage carefully in your Mineral B iron frying pan by de Buyer and let it cook.
- When it's sealed, turn it over and cover it with the de Buyer cooking cloche, so it cooks with all its aroma and juiciness.
- Once it's ready, carefully remove the butifarra from the pan, remove the skewers, and cut into portions. Enjoy every bite!
