More French than Yves Saint-Laurent, the De Buyer Mineral B crepe pan is fantastic for cooking succulent crêpes at home, and a great utensil to also use as a grill or to roast meat (thanks to its low sides and its material, which sears meat very quickly). A gem among the Mineral B iron pans from De Buyer.

  1. Handmade in iron, and in France!
  2. Without using chemicals or strange coatings or heavy metals,
  3. They are treated with a layer of natural beeswax that protects the crêpe pan from the factory until it reaches your home.
  4. With use, they develop a patina that makes them naturally non-stick.
  5. Designed for making crêpes, but because of their low edges they are also ideal to use as a iron griddle, for grilling meat.
  6. Suitable for all heat sources including induction.
  7. They can be put in the oven (they can go in the oven at 200 ºC for ten minutes).

The all-time crêpe pan that will last you a lifetime! Cooking with iron is unmatched, you'll notice the difference.

Remember we have a protective handle cover for De Buyer iron pans, which will help prevent burns when handling the pan.

Why we like the crêpe pan

  1. Mineral iron distributes heat so well across the entire surface of the crêpe pan that the crêpes turn out great and evenly golden.
  2. It's so beautiful that you can serve crêpes in it; imagine some delicious, very French crêpes Suzette, flambéed right in the crêpe pan.
Important things to know about Mineral B iron pans
  • De Buyer are pans made in France, and the only ones that come with a iron purity certificate over 99%. The best!
  • They are iron pans, so they can rust. How to avoid it? Avoid prolonged contact with water, don't let them air dry: simply, after washing, dry them with a cloth. If you like, you can leave them a few minutes on low heat again so they lose all moisture while you finish cooking (it's a very easy and useful trick).
  • If you are going to leave them unused for many days, you can apply a little oil and spread it over the surface with a paper towel, but it's by no means essential.
  • Before first use, it's very useful to season them. That seasoning makes them more naturally non-stick. Seasoning is super simple to do. Watch the video among the photos to learn how to do it.
  • You have a pan for life! You can scrub it with a soft sponge, or wash it with a scouring pad if needed to loosen food, it will do no harm to the pan! (there is no non-stick coating to damage). They can turn black, uniformly or in patches. Don't worry: the blacker they get, the better they'll perform.
  • If little specks of rust appear, wipe with a paper towel with oil, and you'll see it disappear like magic. If the rusted area is larger, use the scouring pad without fear. Nothing will happen to it; it's a completely iron pan: under the iron layer, there is more iron.
  • If you've had to scrub it with a scouring pad or simply feel like it, you can season it again, but it's by no means necessary to do so regularly.
