Today I come with a drink that I love! A refreshing, delicious and filling banana milkshake with almond milk . It is a great way to start the day of the brave, a perfect dessert if you have eaten lightly or a delicious snack.

You will see that all the ingredients of the recipe are easily at home. In addition, in the hot months, it is a great way to take advantage of those riper bananas that at other times of the year we use for cakes, puddings or cupcakes.

If you like bananas, this smoothie will catch you from the first sip and I'm sure it will become one of your favorites. All the ingredients are great on their own, but when they come together, the taste is absolutely delicious and suitable for any time of the day.

For this smoothie you will only need a glass blender . So there's no excuse!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 l almond milk
  • 3 ripe bananas previously peeled and frozen whole
  • 1 ripe banana at room temperature
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 cc vanilla extract
  • 1 cc of honey
  • 3 tablespoons of sunflower oil (you can change it for coconut oil)
  • 1/2 cc of cinnamon (optional)

Preparation

  1. Take the bananas out of the freezer and, without wasting time, cut them into large pieces. Put the pieces in the blender .
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients. Beat about 50 seconds (use the "Pulse" function if your machine has it, to make it easier to cut the frozen pieces).
  3. Pour the contents of the jug into a tall glass*, decorate it with some banana slices and accompany it with a bamboo straw or these stainless steel straws from Lurch .
  4. Ready to enjoy!

Ideas when serving your banana smoothie

Apart from the banana slices, you can serve the smoothie as you like using your favorite toppings. Here are some ideas:

  • Sprinkle cinnamon on top or accompany it with a cinnamon stick, like a cane, to bring it to the table.
  • You can also sprinkle cocoa or decorate it with some chocolate shavings that you can easily make with a kitchen grater .
  • Put on a plate two tablespoons of grated coconut, cocoa, cinnamon, or the sugar you prefer (white, brown or coconut). Wet the edge of the empty glass with water or a little of the same smoothie. Turn the glass over and place it on the plate so that it is impregnated with the chosen ingredient and a perfectly defined rim remains.
  • You can also do it by putting honey , dulce de leche or salted caramel instead of water and on the plate put some ground cookies or well-chopped nuts.

Grades

  • You can also add vanilla or cinnamon incorporating them with the other ingredients. I personally love both flavors and they go very well with banana and almond milk.
  • If you like very sweet shakes, you can sweeten it naturally with stevia, honey or agave syrup.
  • If you like banana you must try this smoothie yes or yes. And if you want to discover other shakes with the most tasty and easy-to-make combinations, here are several options.
  • You can use other oils instead of sunflower oil, besides coconut. Try some dried fruit, such as almond oil , or even sesame oil, which will give it a very interesting toasted touch.
  • If you don't have frozen bananas, you can prepare the smoothie by adding a little crushed ice to the rest of the ingredients. It will be just as rich!
  • You can serve it right away or store a few hours in the fridge in a tightly closed bottle, but remember that the banana oxidizes quickly and the smoothie will darken (the added lemon will delay this oxidation, but will not prevent it).
  • Taking into account the previous point, if you prepare more than one, you can leave them ready to take individually. This way you won't have to open and close the bottle every time you want to serve one. For these presentations, glasses or jars with lids, or Quattro Stagioni pitchers from Bormioli Roco are ideal.
