Today chef Rafa brings us to Claudia&Julia's kitchen some magnificent squid with onions with sobrassada, an easy and quick recipe typical of the Balearic Islands. With the personal touch of sobrassada, it results in a dish with a powerful flavor, really tasty. A recipe that you can present both as a first course and as a second, a versatile and handy recipe.

This magnificent recipe is prepared in the new Balti Dish by Le Creuset , a magnificent casserole, made of vitrified cast iron, which is the most versatile in the kitchen: you can use it both for stir-fries and for rice, frying, as a wok... And its design is the most precious!

Ingredients (for 2 people)

  • 1 onion
  • 8 clean squids
  • Olive oil
  • 80ml of dry white wine
  • Salt
  • 2 cuts of sobrasada


  1. Cut the onion to make the sauce and put it in the Le Creuset Balti Dish with a pinch of salt, and then add the squid.
  2. Add a little olive oil and raise the temperature of the fire.
  3. Once the water has evaporated, add the white wine to cover the squid. We reserve until it evaporates (about 10 minutes).
  4. If we want, we can now eat the squid with its sauce (at this point they are delicious!), but if we want to give it our personal touch, this is the moment to add the sobrassada in pieces on top, until it melts.

Now The recipe is ready to take to the table and enjoy. Presented directly on the Balti Dish it gives a lot of presence. Accompany it with some bread, it is delicious!
