Today, chef Rafa brings us to Claudia&Julia's kitchen some magnificent squid with onions and sobrasada, a quick and easy recipe typical of the Balearic Islands. With the personal touch of sobrasada, it results in a dish with a powerful flavour, really tasty. A recipe that you can present as a first course or as a second course, a versatile and useful recipe.

This magnificent recipe is prepared in the new Balti Dish from Le Creuset , a magnificent casserole dish made of vitrified cast iron, which is extremely versatile in the kitchen: you can use it for stir-fries, rice, frying, as a wok... And its design is absolutely gorgeous!

You will find the step-by-step recipe and the ingredients below, although we invite you to see how Rafuel does it in the following video:

Ingredients (for 2 people)

  • 1 onion
  • 8 cleaned squids
  • Olive oil
  • 80ml dry white wine
  • Salt
  • 2 slices of sobrasada

Preparation

  1. We cut the onion to make the sofrito and put it in the Le Creuset Balti Dish with a pinch of salt, then add the squid.
  2. We add a little olive oil and raise the heat.
  3. Once the water has evaporated, add the white wine until the squid is covered. Set aside until it evaporates (about 10 minutes).
  4. If we want, we can eat the squid with its sauce (at this point they are delicious!), but if we want to give it our personal touch, this is the time to add the sobrasada in pieces on top, until it melts.

The recipe is ready to be served on the table and enjoyed. Presented directly on the Balti Dish, it looks great. Serve it with some bread, it's delicious!
