No juices or smoothies... today we're going to make the recipe for a true strawberry milkshake. As delicious as it is refreshing, smooth, sweet... And a real treat for young and old!

I don't know whether to call this milkshake the classic American milkshake, or a traditional shake made the way it's always been. In any case, making this milkshake is super easy. What is important and makes a difference is:

  • Quality ingredients (we're talking about only 3 ingredients!
  • A countertop blender that gives you an ultra-smooth shake (with power and good blades)

What ingredients will you need to make this strawberry milkshake?

The base of the shake is vanilla ice cream, which adds a delicious creaminess, sweetness (that's why we don't add sugar) and a vanilla touch that pairs wonderfully with strawberries.

Aside from that, you'll only need milk and fresh, in-season strawberries.

Can I substitute fresh strawberries with frozen ones?

Yes, you can. Nowadays fresh strawberries are available for much longer than their natural season, but if you don't have fresh ones you can use frozen strawberries. You can reduce the amount of milk a bit in that case, because the strawberries will add a bit more water to the recipe.

Let's get to the recipe for this indulgent dessert or snack!

Strawberry milkshake recipe

Ingredients

  • 300 g vanilla ice cream
  • 100 ml whole milk
  • 180 g fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

Preparation

  1. Add all the ingredients to the countertop blender (in our case, the Detect Pro Ninja).
  2. Turn on the blender and blend until there are no lumps left.
  3. When it's done blending, you'll have a thick but very smooth and delicious shake.
  4. Serve in glasses. You can garnish with a strawberry sliced on the rim, or rim the glass with a bit of sugar.

Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you have a sweet tooth, or want a party-style presentation, you can fill the glass halfway or three-quarters, and top the shake with whipped cream.
  • If you use the Power Detect blender in its Power Sense mode (smart blending mode):
    • select the Power Detect shake option and press the center button to start.
    • you'll see it speed up and slow down several times on its own. It does this to analyze the texture at each moment, and it will stop by itself when the blending process is finished (you'll see what texture it gives you!).
