What beautiful sunny days we have had these last weeks, spring 100% all full of flowers and with some rays of sun that are already warming. My children already ask me for a snack in the garden almost every afternoon and they even fancy going out for a snack during the weekend, while we take long walks in the countryside. Just this past week thinking about the different alternatives that I can prepare for your snacks, I saw that apart from your favorite snacks and sandwiches, cookies or "cookies" are what you like the most. And why not prepare them at home to make them healthier? In this way, he could play with the different flavors and make his snacks something different every day.

Today I bring you one of the ones they like the most, the oatmeal and chocolate ones, with a crunchy texture and intense flavor with that extra touch of chocolate that makes them irresistible! At home they are a triumph and they love them both for their snacks and for their school breakfasts. And knowing what they like, this weekend I wanted to surprise them and it occurred to me that having Le Creuset's fantastic skillet pans on hand, I could use them as allies to bake maxi-cookies in them!

I should have taken pictures of their faces when, after a long walk in the mountains, they asked me for a snack and I took the XXL cookies for them, hahaha!!! They were amazed that they were so big….."but mommy, how did you do them???…." Well, the truth is, it was easy to prepare and very fun to see the result. At one point I had a batch of maxi-cookies to take on hikes along with their favorite juices. Do you dare to try them??

Le Creuset skillets are made of cast iron that distributes the heat evenly over the entire surface and is perfect for both cooking and baking. In this case, they served me as a mold to get cookies of a larger size and that they came out perfect!


90g oat flakes
180g of flour
1 teaspoon yeast
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
Pinch of salt
100g brown cane sugar
100g of white sugar
80g of chocolate chips or tears (you can use the ones you like best, white, dark or milk chocolate)
1 egg
100g melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (you can replace it with a pinch of ground cinnamon)


Preheat the oven to 175ºC. In a bowl we mix all the dry ingredients, the flour, the oats, the yeast, the baking soda, the salt and the two kinds of sugar. We also add the chocolate chips.
On the other hand, we beat the egg and added the vanilla extract and the already warm melted butter. Mix and pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients to proceed to mix with a wooden spoon or spatula until we see that it will be easier with our hands to form a well-mixed ball of dough.

From there and depending on the diameter of our skillet , we will form dough balls. For the 16cm skillet , a ball of dough of approximately 135-140g and for the 20cm skillet I made a ball of approximately 170g. With this amount of dough, you will get between 4 and 6 maxi-cookies, although if you form normal size cookie balls (3.5 cm), you will get approximately 23-25 ​​cookies. We don't need to grease the pan because the fat that the dough already has is enough, but if we want we can put a piece of baking paper on the bottom.

Bake the small ones for 12-14 minutes and the large ones for 18 minutes or until we see that the edges of the cookies are golden. Then we take the skillets out of the oven, place them on a wire rack and let them cool for a few minutes. Then, with the help of a spatula and taking care not to damage them, remove them from the pan and let them cool completely on the rack.

Buenisimas las galletas!! Yo llevo una alimentación vegana, y algunas recetas les cambio algún ingrediente para adaptarlo, esta vez he suprimido el azúcar blanco y la mantequilla la he cambiado por el aceite de coco.
