If you love baking bread in a cocotte, the new Le Creuset Cocotte Bread Oven is going to excite you! Le Creuset has designed a unique and charming piece, with all the great benefits of its emblematic cast-iron casserole and a domed lid made of the same material, which allows steam to circulate inside , so you can cook loaves like from the bakery.
Le Creuset has created an ideal piece for making bread at home , which you can also use as a wonderful iron grill in which to roast meat, vegetables or fish, or as a saucepan to cook your best stews and rice dishes, or in a mold for bake brioches, roscones or even as a tray for your pizzas, cakes or galettes.
What we highlight of the Le Creuset Cast Iron Bread Oven
Made of cast iron, it is a robust and durable piece, for life. The weight and solidity of this material ensures a hermetic closure of the cocotte when the lid is placed on it, making it impossible for steam to escape, for a perfect baking of the bread. In addition, iron retains and distributes heat wonderfully.
The vault-shaped lid, like a bell, with a height that allows the circulation of the steam generated in the cocotte oven, throughout the interior, recreating the conditions of a bakery steam oven.
Its Signature metal knob, which makes it easy to lift the lid and uncover the cocotte comfortably, even just out of the oven and with an oven mitt on.
The base with an ideal height to leave the dough while it rises and that provides the necessary space for the bread to rise during baking. Its low depth is designed to facilitate the placement of the wet dough, as well as to easily remove the loaf once baked.
The iconic Le Creuset rings embossed on the base that allow the dough to rise. They promote air circulation, which results in more even cooking and a crispier base crust as moisture does not accumulate at that point.
The large, easy-to-grip Signature handles help you safely handle the cocotte, even when it's hot from the oven.
Its matte black interior enamel keeps it safe from oils and flours during cooking, keeping it long-lasting and making it much easier to clean.
In addition to baking your loaves, it's a great piece to use:
As an oven for enriched doughs such as brioches, roscones or sweet breads.
As a roaster, to roast from artichokes to meats such as a round of veal, a chicken, or some pork cheeks or knuckles, accompanied with their garnish. You can cook with the lid on and, during the last minutes of baking, remove it for a crispy finish or to evaporate the alcohol if you decide to add it at the end.
As a tray to cook your favorite fish in the oven, also with its garnish.
As a grill to grill vegetables, meat, fish or seafood. It is a wonderful iron grill, with striped rings that will allow you to cook food without fat, as it is separated from the food on the base.
As a low saucepan, to prepare stews or rice dishes.
As a mold or tray for baking pizzas, cakes, pies with puff pastry or shortcrust pastry or galettes of all kinds.
The cocotte oven for bread is a new jewel from Le Creuset, a very versatile and wonderful piece with which you will not only be able to bake spectacular loaves, since it will give you a lot of play. A new cocotte with which you will enjoy with your doughs and with a lot of other recipes. You are going to adore her!
