I bring you two recipes with warm dates that are as elegant as they are surprising. One is a very elegant appetizer that will look fabulous when you present it on the Sunday table. The second proposal can be either a dessert or a snack to finish the meal, with which you look for a smooth combination of flavors and play with textures.
In both cases, these are recipes that are very easy to prepare. You will see that they take very little time and that they will impress your guests. I think it is a perfect appetizer, an exquisite snack and a real winner. I love it!
IMPORTANT NOTE! You can make these same recipes with dried figs: dried figs combined with walnuts and cheeses (either Parmesan in the first recipe or fresh cheeses in the second, go together deliciously well, so you can make the same recipe with dried figs.
Recipe for Warm Dates with Walnuts and Parmesan
Ingredients
- 24 pcs Large Medjoul Dates*
- 24 Walnuts (one per date)
- Parmesan cheese (whole or in flakes, not grated)
- Olive oil
Preparation
- Open the dates by making a crosswise cut and remove the stone.
- Using a peeler, slice the cheese into slivers and place one or two slivers of Parmesan inside each date.
- Inside, on top of the cheese, place a walnut, and arrange the stuffed dates on a baking tray , separated from each other.
- Bake for about 10 minutes at 180ºC, until the dates are hot.
- Remove from the oven, place on a nice serving platter and drizzle a little oil over the top.
Grades:
- The charm of this appetizer is to serve it hot , although if you warm it up it is still delicious.
- If you like contrast, add a little flaky salt at the end when you add the oil. The salt will also help to emphasize the sweetness of the date.
