On my list of basic and essential recipes, you will undoubtedly find pancakes ("pancakes" if you prefer the Anglo-Saxon term). They are super easy to prepare and you can combine them in so many ways that, whatever you have in the fridge or pantry, you will find something with which to prepare a delicious breakfast.

What we bring you today is the basic recipe for making pancakes. We give it a sweet accompaniment that makes this recipe the king of Sunday breakfasts... Although it is certainly worth enjoying them during the week too!

Ingredients

For the pancake batter:
  • 215g of flour
  • 100g of sugar
  • 3g baking powder
  • 3g of baking soda
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 425 ml of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 55g of melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
To decorate:
  • 75g of blueberries
  • 75g of raspberries
  • 250ml maple syrup (you can substitute it for honey)

Maple Syrup Pancakes Recipe

Le Creuset cappuccino cups and Le Creuset nonstick frying pan

Preparation

  1. In a bowl , mix the flour, sugar, yeast, baking soda, and salt. Then add the milk, the egg, half the butter and the vanilla. Mix gently until all the ingredients are integrated.
  2. Paint with melted butter with the help of a brush a large non-stick frying pan and heat.
  3. With the help of a ladle , pour a portion of batter the size of the pancake.
  4. Cook until bubbles appear on top, about 2 to 5 minutes, then turn the pancake to cook on the opposite side. It is advisable to turn it with a skimmer-type spatula (non-metallic, so as not to damage the pan), and firmly.
  5. Serve with blueberries, raspberries, and a generous amount of maple syrup.

Grades

  • The first pancake will not be perfect, but with it you will learn how to make them. You will see that the second one comes out much better! (With the third you already get the title of "Master").
  • You can stack the pancakes on a plate as you make them. Cover them with a cotton cloth to keep them warm until serving.
  • Plain pancakes are boring. The grace, without a doubt, is in the accompaniment, with which you manage to make a tasty and appetizing set. So be generous with the syrup, honey, chocolate, caramel or whatever you decide to adapt the recipe, and enjoy!

Accompany the pancakes with a good tea or coffee, it will be a great way to start the day!
