Discover how this recipe becomes a true culinary delight with just a few steps in your air fryer (and if you don't have it yet, don't worry, we also indicate times to make it in your conventional oven).
Ingredients (for 2 people)
- 2 salmon fillets
- 2 toasts of bread
- ¼ bunch of chives
- 1 lemon
- 1 tsp vegetable oil (or oil-based mold release spray)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper or mix of peppers
- 30g butter
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
Preparation
- Toast the bread and cut it into cubes.
- Wash the chives, dry them and cut them into thin slices.
- Wash the lemon with hot water, dry it and finely grate half the peel with the microplane grater.
- Wash the salmon fillets, dry them, brush them with oil. Season them with salt and pepper to taste.
- For the mustard base: In a bowl, mix the butter, mustard and honey until creamy. Add the lemon zest, chives and toasted bread cubes to the mixture. Mix to coat the bread and distribute everything evenly in the sauce you have prepared. Season with salt and pepper.
- If you have an air fryer: Place the salmon fillets on the fryer tray (we used the Zwilling ) and spread the mixture (the mustard base) evenly over the fillets. Cook at 180 °C for approximately 10-12 minutes, with the “Fish” program (if you have very thick fillets you will require a few more minutes, or if they are thin in 10 minutes you can have them done).
- If you do it in a conventional oven : Arrange the fillets in an oven-safe dish, and bake for about 15-20 minutes with heat up and down at 180 ºC, until you notice that the salmon has changed color and looks slightly dry on the outside. .
- Once ready, remove and serve immediately. It's a dish to eat hot!
Grades
- If you want, you can not add the toasted bread to the mustard base, and leave the toast uncut as an accompaniment to the dish.
- You can accompany the salmon with mustard with a little cooked rice, vegetables, a green salad, some grilled vegetables... It is delicious as is and accompanied!
- Personally, I think salmon is better raw than overcooked. Therefore, do not exceed the times: if you do it too much it will be dry, and it is a shame given how delicious it is at just the right point!
- If you want, to avoid dirtying the fryer, you can place some baking paper on the base, or you can use the Ibili paper trays that you will find here.
- Beyond being able to fry without oil and the energy savings that air fryers entail, their great advantage is also the time you save when baking: being a much smaller container than the conventional oven, in a moment it arrives at the desired temperature, the heat also reaches the food more quickly and you have your meals ready in just a few minutes.
