There is no easier way to make bread than with a bread maker. You just put the ingredients in it and choose the program you want. Similarly, the bread maker allows you to make jam, without having to stand there stirring the mixture. In short, a real luxury.

While the bakery comes with a very complete recipe book, Beatriz (author ofTo Be Gourmet ) brings us a recipe for cereal bread that we assure you is delicious - perfect for enjoying a good bread and great to combine with any post-summer diet. Enjoy!

Waking up in the morning to freshly baked bread ready for breakfast is a real luxury. If you also accompany it with a jam made from seasonal fruit, such as figs brought from the market the day before, the experience becomes a festival for gourmets.

The best thing of all is that this scenario can be made a reality without too much effort, just by devoting a little time the evening before. While we read a book or do any other fun or relaxing activity, our bread and jam will cook themselves in the Moulinex Bread Maker .

The best: a healthy way to start the day, with bread that can be included in any post-summer diet, and that will not be spoiled by a couple of spoonfuls of our special jam because... two is not the same as twenty-two.

Ingredients

For the cereal bread:

  • 380gr of water at room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 500gr of strong flour
  • 50gr of wheat bran
  • 80gr of pumpkin seeds
  • 100gr of flax seeds
  • A sachet of baker's yeast

For the fig jam:

  • 450gr of figs
  • 250gr of sugar
  • The juice of 1 lemon
  • 10 blueberries

Elaboration:

First we are going to make the bread.

  1. We put all the ingredients in the bread maker basket.
  2. We select the size “750gr”, and the level of toasting that we prefer (I like it “lightly toasted”).
  3. Next we select program 4 to make the bread.
  4. When it is finished, leave the basket out of the machine for about ten minutes to cool and remove the bread from the mould. If you turn the blades from below with your hand, it will come out more easily.

Let's prepare the jam.

  1. Place the jam ingredients in the bread maker . You can put the figs in peeled and cut into quarters, or you can cut them in half and easily remove the pulp from inside with a spoon.
  2. We select the appropriate program for making jam, 15.
  3. In about an hour we will have the jam ready, and we will only have to put it in jars, let it cool and put it in the refrigerator.

Grades:

  • We add blueberries to fig jam because, in addition to being rich in pectin, which helps to naturally thicken the jam, they are a magnificent source of antioxidants and flavonoids.
  • As for bread, since it is freshly made it lasts several days in perfect condition, and if there are only a few of us at home we can freeze it cut into slices and toast it immediately without having to defrost it.

In short, a delicious and healthy breakfast to start the day full of vitamins and energy. Energy provided by carbohydrates, mainly slow-absorbing, which will keep us from the temptation to snack for the rest of the day.
