The fig season is officially open, and we won't be the ones short on ideas for enjoying them! At home we love them, especially my husband and my eldest son, and while at this time they enjoy them fresh, paired with a good cheese they become a delicious dinner!
What I bring you today is a recipe for cheese lovers and for easy dinners — although it's true that it will also make you look great if you prepare it as an appetizer for any meal, whether in summer, autumn or you can even make it as an appetizer at Christmas (you can also make it with dried figs the rest of the year).
The base is made with brie cheese, topped with figs, toasted walnuts and a light touch of walnut oil. You can prepare it in two ways, in a cast iron skillet or, the other option, in a ceramic cheese baker suitable for the oven.
When serving, you can accompany it with some crunchy toasts or toasted bread. You'll thoroughly enjoy this delicacy!
