In 2023, an American woman shared a TikTok video of the inside of her car after a serious fire. Much of the vehicle had been destroyed and, among the remains, there was her Stanley Quencher.

The surprise came when she picked up the tumbler and shook it.You could still hear the ice inside!

The video went viral within days and racked up tens of millions of views. It was hard to imagine a more vivid demonstration of the durability and insulation of a Stanley.

The story also had a fantastic ending. Terence Reilly, president of Stanley, replied to the owner personally. The brand would send her new Stanleys and decided to go much further: it also offered to give her a new car.

The video went around the world and helped reinforce something Stanley has stood for for decades: products made to last.

Stanley wasn't born with the Quencher

Although many people today have discovered Stanley thanks to the famous tumbler with a handle and straw, the brand's story began much earlier.

It was in 1913 that William Stanley Jr. revolutionised the way drinks were kept by combining vacuum insulation with the strength of steel. This gave rise to the first Stanley steel vacuum bottle and a new way of thinking about the flask.
