Every day I enjoy the sweetness of pears more. Natural, in salads, in cakes and tarts or, as I bring you today, oven-roasted pears , with a touch of cinnamon and honey.
It is a great pleasure to enjoy a good, leisurely breakfast, and frankly, today's recipe is with me in many of my morning moments. Preparing them takes very little complication (if not none at all) and you have them ready in a jiffy.
Roasted pears are ideal to accompany salads or grilled or baked fish. Of course, you can also eat them straight or, as I like them, enjoy them simply with bread and fresh cheese. It's a great breakfast or dinner. Here are my tips!
Laura Ashley Ceramic Tray , Nordic Ware Cooling Rack and Emile Henry Ceramic Ramekin
Ingredients
- 2 ripe but firm pears (sweet but not melting in the heat)
- 1 lemon
- A few cinnamon sticks
- Cinnamon powder
- Rosemary, orange or thousand flower honey
Preparation
- On an oven-safe tray, squeeze some lemon juice. I used the Laura Ashley ceramic one , but you can use others (the important thing is that it has edges to retain juices).
- Cut the pears into slices a couple of centimetres thick and arrange them on the tray. I take the opportunity to stir the pears in the lemon juice, turning them around so that they are covered in the juice (this is to prevent them from turning black). You can also squeeze a little more lemon over the top.
- You apply some cinnamon sticks and to the oven, preheated and in the upper part at 180º - 200 ºC
- When you see the skin of the pears wrinkled, remove the tray (if the oven was hot, they will be done in 10-13 minutes).
- Add a little cinnamon powder and honey (Be careful! The pears are already very sweet... don't overdo it).
Note to turn these roasted pears into a VIP breakfast
Pears are delicious just like the recipe, with cinnamon and honey. But to not find them so sweet and to enjoy them for a delicious breakfast, I invite you to try them accompanied by bread and cheese, as follows:
- Prepare (1) a toast of good bread or (2) soft bread with tomato, salt and oil.
- Place the roasted pear and a little ricotta cheese, fresh cheese or mató on top of the bread.
- Now apply the splash of honey.
