Let's take advantage of the Dupla! Bra's double frying pan is wonderful: it is already wonderful to use alone, individually, but when you put those two pans together you can do wonders. From a wonderful omelet without spilling anything to a tarte tatin...Or this delicious recipe for roasted apples with custard with a touch of vanilla! A perfect and ideal dessert, which I highly encourage you to try.

BRA Dupla Prior Frying Pan

Ingredients

For the baked apples:
  • 4 apples (we have used Gala, which with its acidic point will contrast more with the custard, but with Golden the recipe is also delicious)
  • 80 ml of water
  • 2 butter spoons
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 generous tablespoon of panela

For the custard:

  • 500 ml milk at room temperature
  • 3 egg yolks M
  • 6 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of Cornstarch
  • the skin of a lemon
  • The skin of an orange

Preparation

  1. Put the clean, unpeeled apples in the frying pan Bra duo . Prick them with a toothpick and add the spoonful of panela on top. Place the cinnamon stick inside and cover the pan with its other half. Place over low heat and cook for 40 minutes.
  2. After this time, stop the heat and let the pan rest for 5 minutes before opening it.
  3. While the apples are cooking, let's prepare the custard. In a saucepan (we have used the classic E fficient Orange ), heat the milk together with the lemon peel, orange peel and sugar. Let it cook over low heat for 10 minutes, to infuse the milk with the citrus aromas. Stir occasionally.
  4. Strain the infused milk and return it to the saucepan. Add the beaten egg yolks and heat over medium heat, being careful not to boil and stirring constantly, with the help of a whisk.
  5. In a separate glass, dissolve the cornstarch in 3 tablespoons of milk at room temperature or cold. When the milk in the saucepan begins to thicken, add the dissolved cornstarch and continue stirring until the custard thickens more, without it boiling at any time: you will notice that suddenly the mixture in the saucepan begins to take on body, it densifies; When that happens, wait another half minute while you continue stirring and... Custard is ready!
  6. When serving, present an apple in a bowl or plate and serve with the custard, either in a separate bowl for everyone to serve themselves or by pouring a few tablespoons or ladles of custard on top of the apple (if you do it in front of the diner, I can attest that your mouth will water and you will be looking forward to trying those delicious desserts).
  7. As a final touch, you can sprinkle cinnamon powder and brown sugar on top.

Milk with cinnamon

This recipe has been making my eyes for a long time. Our dear Loleta prepared it for Bra a long time ago, and we finally bring it to you on the blog. I hope you enjoy it a lot.

Grades:

You'll be happy to know that Bra's Dupla frying pan can do much more than just make perfect omelettes:
  • Curdle some eggs on top of some chickpeas, a ratatouille, some potatoes... in just 3 minutes, without a drop of oil.
  • Roast some peppers, some strawberries, a.... without having to turn on the oven
  • Make pizza in a frying pan, or prepare a tatin in the Dupla, since it has a wonderful oven effect on the fire, without needing to turn on the oven.
  • Use it as an individual pan and cover with the second pan to melt the cheese quickly in the recipe you are preparing.
  • Make some delicious apples or pears in wine.
  • Use it to make jam, you will see how the fruit melts quickly.
  • Keep your food warmer for longer.
  • Try all the delicious tortilla recipes that come with the recipe book that you will find in it when you buy it.

Esto me recuerda al Apple Pie de mi tierra (Inglaterra) con custard, solo que engorda mucho menos porque no hay shortcrust pastry (masa quebrada)…. Que rico… Gracias!
