If, like me, you love enjoying a good movie and you can't imagine doing so without a bowl full of popcorn, I'm going to tell you a secret to have it ready in less time than it takes to sit down on the couch, without making a mess, and in the pan!

And so that you continue to be surprised, I am going to show you three ways to make them, all of them very quick, easy and, let me repeat, without making a mess. So, every time we change the movie, you can also change the recipe.

I bring you how to make a variety of popcorn:

  1. Mediterranean popcorn , that is, with paprika and herbs.
  2. Caramelized popcorn.
  3. Curry popcorn.

The secret to making them quickly and without making a mess is a trick, and that is that the pan in which we are going to make the popcorn is the Dupla, the non-stick pan for tortillas from Bra. Wonderful.

This pan is actually a double pan, made from two separate pans. They fit together perfectly to flip the omelette safely, without leaks and in the simplest way. And we can also use them separately.

Thanks to this perfect coupling, the necessary conditions are achieved inside to generate the oven effect, and we can roast on the fire with results as fantastic as in the oven and with a much lower energy cost. Therefore, it is an ideal pan for many recipes, as well as for omelettes.

And now that you know the secret, let's get to the recipes so you can prepare the popcorn you like the most in less time than it will take you to decide which movie you want to watch.

1) Mediterranean popcorn

Ingredients

  • 30 g olive oil
  • 80 g of corn
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Dried oregano
  • Dried parsley
  • Garlic powder
  • Lemon zest

Preparation

  1. Prepare your Dupla non-stick frying pan by fitting both pans together.
  2. Put the oil in the pan, add the corn, close the pan and stir well so that the oil is distributed as well as possible.
  3. Place the pan over low heat and stir slowly. You will begin to hear the characteristic "pop" of the popping corn as you continue to stir.
  4. When you stop hearing it, remove the pan from the heat and open it to season the popcorn.
  5. First, sprinkle the paprika and stir well with a silicone spatula to distribute it; then add the salt and ground pepper to taste, followed by the oregano, parsley and garlic powder.
  6. Finally, finely grate the peel of a lemon over the popcorn.
  7. Stir with the silicone spatula, close the pan and shake it well so that the dressing reaches all the popcorn.
  8. Finally, open your Dupla, breathe in the wonderful aroma that will reach you when you separate both pans and place the popcorn in a bowl.
  9. Sit on the couch with the TV remote and bowl close by and enjoy the movie and your popcorn!

2) Caramelized popcorn

Ingredients

  • 80-100 g of corn
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 25 ml of water
  • 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil

Preparation

  1. Prepare a baking tray, place a sheet of baking paper on it and set aside (note: we are not going to cook in it, it is to rest the popcorn at the end of its preparation and for the caramel to cool).
  2. Prepare your Dupla non-stick frying pan by fitting both pans together.
  3. Put the oil in the pan, add the corn, close the pan and stir well so that the oil is distributed as well as possible.
  4. Place the pan over low heat and stir slowly. You will begin to hear the characteristic "pop" of the popping corn as you continue to stir.
  5. When you stop hearing it, remove the pan from the heat, open it and reserve the popcorn in a bowl.
  6. Now we need to prepare the caramel. Put the pan on a medium heat and add the sugar and water. Mix them together with a spatula and stir until the caramel starts to take on colour. Keep stirring for a little longer, being careful not to burn yourself, as the caramel gets very hot.
  7. When you see that the caramel is ready, turn off the heat and pour the popcorn into the pan. Close the Dupla and stir well, using circular movements and turning it, so that all the popcorn is covered in caramel.
  8. Separate the pans and carefully pour the popcorn onto the tray you had reserved, spreading it over the entire surface.
  9. Let them cool so you can separate them easily and don't burn yourself on them.
  10. Put them in a bowl and enjoy the movie!

3) Curry popcorn

Ingredients

  • 80 g of corn
  • 30 g olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of your favorite curry

Preparation

  1. Prepare your Dupla non-stick frying pan by fitting both pans together.
  2. Put the oil in the pan and when it is hot, add the curry and stir well to mix it with the oil.
  3. Add the corn, close the pan and stir well so that the oil is distributed as well as possible.
  4. Put the pan on low heat and when you start to hear the characteristic "pop" of the corn popping, stir the pan a little so that the corn is loose and well seasoned.
  5. When you stop hearing it, remove the pan from the heat, open your Dupla, place the popcorn in a bowl and it's ready to eat!

Grades

  • When preparing the Mediterranean Popcorn, except for the paprika, add the other spices and the lemon zest, in the quantities you prefer, according to your taste.
  • You can prepare popcorn by seasoning it with the spices you like best. You can give the popcorn your own personal touch: with Ras el Hanout, with a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, with ground cayenne pepper if you want it with a spicy touch, or with sumac and lime zest...
  • If you prefer buttered popcorn, add a touch of cinnamon and/or vanilla and you'll see how delicious it is.
  • And if you want to go even further, make them with noisette butter or brown butter. You can find the recipe here .

As you can see, the world of popcorn is as vast as your imagination. And with the Bra Dupla pan, popcorn is made so quickly and cleanly that you can try out several combinations in one afternoon to find out which one is going to be your favourite.
