If you're looking for a fresh, light and delicious drink I think you should stay: this recipe for Apple and lemon granita has stolen my heart. It's a healthy granita with a touch of ginger sweetened with a pinch of honey that tastes amazing.
The Slushi granita maker from Ninja is a temptation for making all kinds of indulgent granitas (cocoa shakes, horchata granitas, lemon granitas...), but it's also a fantastic option for making very refreshing and healthy drinks. Today's recipe is an example - I liked it so much that I make it all the time at home, and the kids fill whole glasses when they want to cool off - my children were already great lovers of natural apple juice, so they absolutely adore this granita!
Apple is great for the digestive system, lemon activates the lymph and helps cleanse the body, ginger helps reduce inflammation and honey is a natural unprocessed sweetener that is very healthy... So this granita, besides refreshing you, will do you great! The recipe is very easy, keep reading.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of ginger
- Half a lemon
- 1.5 l of apple juice (or less, you can use 1L if you prefer)
- 1 tablespoon of honey
Preparation
- In a saucepan, put half a liter of apple juice, along with the ginger slices and the juice of half a lemon. Heat and let infuse for 10 minutes (if it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to stop boiling and just keep it warm).
- After those 10 minutes, add the tablespoon of honey and stir until it is completely dissolved.
- Remove from the heat and strain with a sieve. Pour the infused apple juice into a jug, and add the rest of the juice you had reserved.
- Pour all the juice into the Slushi granita maker and turn it on, pressing the "Frozen juice" button on the menu.
- Let it granulate.
- When you see it has granulated, serve in tall glasses and enjoy.
Notes
- With 1.5L of drink and starting from a high temperature, it will take about 25 minutes or almost 30). If you use less juice, it will take less time to granulate.
- You can make the same recipe with less juice, but I wouldn't reduce the amount of lemon juice or ginger - we don't infuse them for long, and if you reduce them you won't notice their flavor.
- If you don't have honey, you can sweeten it with a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar.

Muchas gracias
