Inspired by the skillets found in professional kitchens, the Chef Lodge Cast Iron Skillet with Handle has been carefully designed down to the last detail. Its French-style handle provides comfortable handling . Its gently curved, ridged walls make it perfect for cooking everything from omelets to sauces, and it's easy to stir and scrape with a spatula. And its traditional pouring spouts are a great addition to any skillet. They will help you serve without spilling.
Cast iron gives it excellent heat retention for longer , and the even temperature distribution makes it a perfect pan for efficient cooking . Its natural non-stick coating, without coatings or coatings and PFOA-free , will make it an essential piece in your kitchen.
Lodge cast iron pieces are heavy, and not dishwasher safe . The good thing about them (aside from being amazing, natural pans) is that they come pre-seasoned at the factory , so you can start using them right away when they arrive at your home (no pre-seasoning required). But remember: they are cast iron, not vitrified , so they must be dried before they are washed, or rust will form. If rust does form, just wipe it with a cloth to restore it. If you want, you can season it from time to time... but you're doing it with every use! Use it daily, dry it immediately, and you'll have a pan that will last a lifetime (and some incredibly tasty recipes with natural flavors).

When you want to use it, you just have to let it heat up gradually, so that the heat is evenly distributed throughout the piece, and start cooking when it is very hot. To clean it, let it cool down first; wash it with a sponge and non-abrasive detergent and lightly oil the inside surface to prevent it from rusting. For optimal preservation, it is recommended to always store it in a dry place.
Please note that the pan is made of cast iron and is made from one piece, so both the handle and the pan handle get hot. With the Lodge Silicone Hot Handle Protectorand Lodge Silicone Pan Handle Protectors , you can handle it safely and without burning yourself.
NOTE: Factory seasoning gives Lodge cast iron pieces a rustic finish with some imperfections, such as a brown mark on the rim, handle or grip. Don't worry! These are small spots where the oil hasn't soaked into the iron, but your piece is safe to use. This is not a defect or rust and will disappear with regular use and care.

The handle is longer and curved, French style, and the walls are curved with no corners, so it's perfect for omelettes and sauces: you can stir with a spatula without leaving any bits in the corners. It's also a little lighter: the 25 cm pan weighs 2.09 kg and the classic 26 cm one 2.43 kg.
The 20 cm pan weighs 1.39 kg, the 25 cm 2.09 kg and the 30 cm 2.97 kg. The larger sizes also have a helper handle so you can hold them with both hands.
Yes. Lodge casts each pan in a sand mould, which gives it that slightly rough finish. With use, a patina forms that makes the surface smoother and more non-stick over time.
Because cast iron gets better with use. Heat it up gradually with a thin layer of oil, and let the food release on its own before turning it. On induction, a medium setting works best: cast iron stores a lot of heat.
No. Lodge seasons it at the factory with vegetable oil, so you can use it as soon as it arrives. Every time you cook with fat, the seasoning gets better.
Yes. It works on all hobs, including induction, as well as in the oven and on the barbecue.
By hand, with hot water and a sponge; cast iron is not dishwasher safe. Dry it straight away and, if you like, rub it with a thin layer of oil. If a little rust ever appears, scrub it off with a scourer and oil it again. You'll find all the details in our Lodge guide (in Spanish).
