These watermelon and lemon popsicles have been a hit at home. With the arrival of summer, and sometimes even earlier, the kids stop eating yogurt from the little cups and the Zoku T-shirt begins its peak season. When it's not yogurt it's juice, and when it's not…. something else. I've even seen them have Cola Cao in the morning with their little stirrer. And this way, no doubt about it, it's much more fun.

We also have the chapter about when friends come over and you offer them a freshly made ice cream with your own hands. Everyone is blown away and of course they want to make their own; alternating yogurts of different flavors to make a striped popsicle… all in all… an awesome plan!

Apart from these basic creations they love and repeat every summer like a ritual, the Zoku ice pop maker also delivers for adults. I love coming up with different combinations to surprise our own friends. Today’s one is super eye-catching and honestly delicious!

Zoku Double Quick Pop Maker

Ingredients

  • 400gr of watermelon
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 glass of water
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • Toasted sesame
  • Currants

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan We heat the water, lemon juice, and sugar so the sugar dissolves well.
  2. Remove and let it cool.
  3. In a container, place this lemonade, add the watermelon in chunks, and blend.
  4. We take our out of the freezer Zoku refrigerator.
  5. We bring together a sprig of currants and the stick from the mold with our fingers and insert them together into the T-shirt’s opening. If we see that it doesn’t go in easily because of the volume of the currants, we tilt them a little, but we try to keep them as centered as possible.
  6. We do the same for each well of our Zoku.
  7. We add the watermelon and lemon juice.
  8. We wait 8 minutes (yes, with the Zoku freezer they’re ready in that record time!) and remove them from the mold using the knob-shaped accessory. Screw it on and pull.
  9. We put the white plastic base on the handle. It's very practical so we don't get dirty if the ice pop drips.
  10. We garnish with a little sesame as a topping.

The pop maker must be in the freezer for 24 hours beforehand for it to work properly. With the two-slot one you can make up to six pops in a row, and with the six-slot one you can make nine. It’s best to rinse it after use and keep it in the freezer so it’s ready at any time.
