If, like me, you love enjoying a good movie and can't imagine doing it without a bowl full of popcorn, I'm going to tell you a secret to have them ready in less time than it takes you to sit on the sofa, without making a mess, and in the pan!
And to keep surprising you, I'm going to show you three ways to make them, all of them very quick, easy and, allow me to insist, without making a mess. That way, every time we change the movie, you can also change the recipe.
I bring you how to make assorted popcorn:
- Mediterranean popcorn, that is, with paprika and herbs.
- Caramelized popcorn.
- Curry popcorn.
The secret to making them quickly and without mess has a trick, and it's that the pan we're going to make the popcorn in is the Dupla, the non-stick pan for tortillas by Bra. Wonderful.
This pan, actually, is a double pan formed by joining two independent pans. These fit together perfectly to flip the omelette with complete safety, without leaks and in the simplest way. And we can also use them separately.
Thanks to this perfect fit, the necessary conditions are achieved inside to create an oven effect, and we can roast on the stovetop with results as fantastic as in the oven and with much lower energy cost. So it's an ideal pan for many recipes, besides for omelettes
And now that you know the secret, let's go with the recipes so you can prepare the popcorn you like most in less time than it'll take you to decide which movie you want to watch.

1) Mediterranean popcorn
Ingredients
- 30 g of olive oil
- 80 g of corn
- 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Dried oregano
- Dried parsley
- Garlic powder
- Lemon zest
Preparation
- Prepare your Dupla non-stick pan fitting both pans together.
- Put the oil in the pan, add the corn, close the pan and stir well so the oil is distributed as evenly as possible.
- Heat the pan over low heat and stir little by little. You'll start to hear the characteristic "pop" of the corn popping while you keep stirring.
- When you stop hearing it, remove the pan from the heat and open it to season the popcorn.
- First sprinkle the paprika and stir well with a silicone spatula to distribute it; next add salt and ground pepper to taste and, after them, the oregano, parsley and garlic powder.
- Finally, finely grate the skin of a lemon over the popcorn.
- Stir with the silicone spatula, close the pan and shake it well so the seasoning reaches all the popcorn.
- Finally, open your Dupla, inhale the wonderful aroma that reaches you as you separate both pans and place the popcorn in a bowl.
- Sit on the sofa with the TV remote and the bowl close by and enjoy the movie and your popcorn!

2) Caramelized popcorn
Ingredients
- 80-100 g of corn
- 50 g of sugar
- 25 ml of water
- 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil
Preparation
- Prepare a baking tray, place a sheet of parchment paper on it and set aside -note: we will not cook on it, it's for resting the popcorn at the end of its preparation so the caramel can cool).
- When you stop hearing it, remove the pan from the heat, open it and place the popcorn in a bowl.
- Now you need to prepare the caramel. Put the pan over medium heat and add the sugar and water. Mix them with a spatula and stir until the caramel begins to take color. Continue stirring a little longer, being careful not to burn yourself, as the caramel gets very hot.
- When you see the caramel is ready, turn off the heat and pour the popcorn into the pan. Close the Dupla and stir well, with enveloping movements and turning it, so that all are coated with caramel.
- Separate the pans and, carefully, pour the popcorn onto the tray you had set aside, spreading them over the whole surface.
- Let them cool so you can separate them easily and don't burn yourself with them.
- Put them in a bowl, and enjoy the movie!

3) Curry popcorn
Ingredients
- 80 g of corn
- 30 g of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of your favorite curry
Preparation
- Prepare your Dupla non-stick pan fitting both pans together.
- Put the oil in the pan and when it's hot, add the curry and stir well to mix it with the oil.
- Add the corn, close the pan and stir well so the oil is distributed as evenly as possible.
- Heat the pan over low heat and when you start to hear the characteristic "pop" of the corn popping, stir the pan a little so they remain loose and well seasoned.
- When you stop hearing it, remove the pan from the heat, open your Dupla, place the popcorn in a bowl and they're ready to eat!
Notes
- When preparing the Mediterranean popcorn, except for the paprika, add the other spices and the lemon zest in the quantities you prefer, according to your taste.
- You can prepare the popcorn seasoned with the spices you like most. You'll give the popcorn your personal touch: with Ras el Hanout, with a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, with ground cayenne if you want them with a spicy kick, or with sumac and lime zest...
- If you prefer popcorn with butter, add a touch of cinnamon and/or vanilla and you'll see how tasty they are.
- And if you want to push it further, make them with beurre noisette or brown butter. You have here the recipe.
As you can see, the universe of popcorn is as extensive as your imagination. And with the Dupla pan by Bra they are made so quickly and cleanly that you can try several combinations in one afternoon to find out which will be your favorite.
