I bring you two recipes with hot dates that are as elegant as they are surprising. One is a most elegant aperitif and with which you will look fabulously well when you present it at the Sunday table. The second proposal can be both a dessert and a snack to end the meal, with which you seek a combination of soft flavors and play with textures.

In both cases they are the easiest recipes to prepare. You will see that they take very little time and with which you will look fabulously well with your guests. I think it is a perfect aperitif, an exquisite snack and a full-fledged stay-good. I love it!

IMPORTANT NOTE! You can make these same recipes with dried figs: dried figs combined with walnuts and cheeses (either Parmesan in the first recipe or fresh cheeses in the second, pair deliciously well, so you can make the same recipe with dried figs.

Hot dates with walnuts and Parmesan recipe

Ingredients

  • 24 units large Medjoul dates*
  • 24 Walnuts (one per date)
  • Parmesan cheese (whole or sliced, not grated)
  • Olive oil
*You can also use dried figs, and make Figs with walnuts and Parmesan

    Preparation

    1. Open the dates making a cross cut and remove the stone.
    2. Laminate the cheese into flakes with the help of a peeler and place one or two flakes of Parmesan inside each date.
    3. Inside, on top of the cheese, place a walnut, and arrange the stuffed dates on a baking tray , separated from each other.
    4. Bake for about 10 minutes at 180ºC, until the dates are hot.
    5. Remove from the oven, arrange on a nice tray to present them to the table and pour a little oil on top.

    Grades:

    • The grace of this appetizer is to serve it hot , although if they are tempered they are still delicious.
    • If you like contrast, apply a little salt flakes at the end, when you add the oil. The salt will help to emphasize the sweetness of the date as well.
