Many of you think that making a bundt cake is complicated, or that it requires certain cooking skills. Well if you read and follow the tips prepared by Virginia, author of the recipe "Death by Chocolate" we posted yesterday, you will see that, in fact, making a delicious bundt cake is not particularly complicated. We encourage you to read them, and to dare to make your first bundt cake for next November 15, International Bundt Cake!

Tips for successfully preparing a Bundt Cake:
1.- Before anything else, it is essential to grease the pan very thoroughly, paying special attention to every nook. Although these pans are wonderful for unmolding, because they have such sinuous shapes, it is advisable to devote a little time to this initial task so that when unmolding our creation does not fall apart.
2.- The preparation and greasing of the pan can be done in the traditional way, with butter and flour; or in the case of chocolate cakes, with butter and cocoa, to avoid ending up with a white film. But in my opinion it is faster and more reliable to use a nonstick spray and then spread it well over the entire surface with the help of a brush. Unmolding is infinitely easier, quicker and more reliable because it reaches all the corners more easily.
3.- When pouring the batter into the pan we must make sure it reaches every corner and area of the pan. If it were a very dense batter, we should gently press the batter with a spatula.
4.- We should not fill the pan beyond 3/4 full. Although original pans indicate capacity in cups, and recipes almost always do too, if you do not have them, or do not know the cup equivalents, this rule will help prevent the batter from overflowing the pan as it expands in the oven.
5.- It is advisable to level the batter inside the pan so that it is slightly higher at the edges than in the center. These types of preparations in pans with a central tube, when baked tend to puff up and rise more in the center than at the sides and this will prevent that, or at least make it less pronounced.
6.- Before putting the pan in the oven, we should tap it gently against the countertop a few times to release any air bubbles that may have been trapped in the batter. That way, when cutting, those undesirable holes that sometimes appear will not show up.
7.- When our cake is finally baked and before unmolding it, we should let it cool for 10-15 minutes right side up on a rack, no more and no less time. If we try to unmold it earlier, our cake, still very hot, will be too fragile and may break. If we leave it beyond that time, it may stick too much to the walls of the pan with the same result when unmolding.
8.- Before proceeding to the final unmolding, we will separate the cake from the sides of the pan by gently pressing with our fingers. Then we will tap it gently several times on the surface and carefully invert it onto a cooling rack.
9.- Bundt Cakes are usually tastier the day after they are made than on the same day of preparation, because this gives all their flavors time to meld and develop.

Hola Carmen,
Muchas gracias!
