I hope that, with today’s recipe, this changes and you try making it at home, because natural, fresh pineapple juice is delicious: a great way to quench your thirst and to enjoy a 100% natural soft drink. Plus, you can keep switching up the flavor with little tricks I share below to make a variety of delicious pineapple juices!
In this post I’m sharing:
- The recipe for making pineapple juice at home
- How to tweak the recipe to make delicious variations of pineapple juice (don’t miss the last section!)

1. How to make pineapple juice at home
Ingredients
- 1 medium pineapple (500 g once cut and peeled)
- 400-450 ml of cold water (approx*)
- Juice of half a lemon (optional)
- 1/2 tbsp of white or brown sugar, or another sweetener (optional)
*The amount of water will depend on your preferences; depending on the pineapple you chose, the blending time, and your taste, you'll add more or less water. I recommend starting with 300 ml of water and adding more until you reach the desired consistency (you may need up to 500 ml).
Preparation
- Peel the pineapple, removing the stem and base of the pineapple, then the skin. Then cut it into slices and cubes.
- Put the pineapple in a blender along with 250 ml of water (I use the Magimix blender, which offers me good blending power and allows me to pour the water through the cap gradually). Start blending.
- Add the lemon juice and sugar, if you want to use them (see notes).
- Once it’s blended, decide whether you want it thinner, and add water while you keep blending until you reach the desired consistency. You’ll quickly be able to judge it by eye—you’ll see—and there’s no need to worry if you add 50 ml more or 50 ml less.
- Once blended, pass it through a strainer (a fine strainer, a cotton mesh or a chinois strainer) or use the Chufamix to strain it and obtain a very clean, liquid juice.
- You already have your pineapple juice! I recommend using a pitcher and keeping it in the fridge (in the notes you’ll see why I use the Romantic Candy)
Notes
- I prefer not to add sugar when making the juice, because it's delicious as is and, at home, if someone wants to add it, they do it right when they drink it.
- I recommend straining with a cotton mesh strainer or Chufamix because they’re the best ways to achieve a perfect strain, extracting every last drop of juice.
- Use natural mineral water, and make sure it's cold from the start; it will better preserve the pineapple's vitamins.
- I love to use the Romantic Candy pitcher for juices, because the inner ice accessory lets you chill them without diluting them, Awesome!

2. Take note! Ingredients for vary your pineapple juice in great ways
You can vary the flavor of pineapple juice and get a different, truly delicious recipe by adding any of these ingredients:
- Half a glass of juice of orange natural, it adds a natural sweetness that pairs very well.
- You can replace part of the water with coconut water, you give it a tropical and smooth touch.
- Medium mango (or a whole one if you really like it), which will increase the sweetness and you add a creamy texture.
- The same goes for banana—try it and you'll be surprised.
- Add one centimeter of fresh ginger when you grind it, add a spicy, warming touch.
- Some fresh mint leaves, they add freshness and a refreshing flavor.
- Plain yogurt, to add a touch of acidity and creaminess.
