The design of slanted sides on the 3 cocottes allows for a tighter fit. The set includes 4 removable edge protectors that help prevent rubbing when placing the pieces. With the lid on, the complete Set takes up the same space as a single casserole, making storage neater and very practical.

All the pots and the lid are made of cast iron with vitreous enamel. They retain heat exceptionally well and distribute it evenly, from the base to the rim and the lid, which also heats up. Free from nonstick coatings, they stand out for their great durability, excellent heat retention and distribution, and versatility. With them, you can cook all kinds of recipes in a completely natural and healthy way, with full flavor and excellent results.
The interior vitrified enamel of Staub cocottes is matte black. Very durable and valued for how well it performs in slow, gentle cooking and also at high temperatures. This finish promotes browning of food, is highly durable, is very resistant to stains and scratches, and makes cleaning and maintaining the pieces easier.
The universal cast iron condensation lid it is suitable for the 3 cocottes in the Set. Inside it has small bumps that promote self-basting. The lid retains moisture and makes use of it, distributing the steam generated over the food in the form of raindrops. The results are much more tender, juicy, and full of flavor.
The casserole is a very versatile piece.
