The undisputed leaders in Italy, the "Quattro Stagioni" Jars with lids by Bormioli Rocco, are now available at Claudia&Julia for you to prepare your homemade preserves just like the mammas have been doing for over 40 years. Safe, easy, and practical, the rubber seal under the lid ensures the "vacuum effect" in the glass jar. All of this comes in jars available in a wide range of sizes and a beautiful traditional design. You will use them in the kitchen for making preserves and storing all kinds of ingredients.

The jars are perfect for preserves and are undoubtedly ideal for storing everything from nuts to sugars, flours, rice, sweets... You’ll use them for everything!

The vacuum system of the Quattro Stagioni jars is easy, safe, and unique. You can see it and hear it. You’ll see it when the center of the lid is indented and hear it when you open the jar to enjoy your preserve, with the characteristic "pop" sound. It guarantees the perfect combination of jar and lid:

  • The jar is made of glass, always recyclable. Thick, durable, with great transparency and the brand's embossed engraving, making it easily recognizable. Easy to clean, even in the dishwasher, ensuring hygienic preservation and great safety.
  • The screw-on lid is specifically designed for your homemade preserves. The inner part of the lid features a rubber seal, allowing air to escape during boiling, creating a vacuum and adhering to the glass. The flexible part of the lid (in the center) lowers, ensuring long-term vacuum sealing. It is golden in color, of high quality, and with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Its special internal rubber seal is softer, purer, and more elastic than common jar lids, facilitating complete adherence to the glass.
  • No need to overtighten the lid to close the jar, as doing so would prevent the air from escaping. Screw it on gently, and it's ready to be pasteurized!
  • The design of the wide and comfortable mouth, as well as the shape of all the jars, is specially designed to maximize practicality when pouring and storing your homemade preserves.
  • The lids are very practical and replaceable to ensure the vacuum process for each new preserve.

The quintessential Italian brand for jars offers a wide range of formats, allowing you to cover countless uses and needs in the kitchen and pantry. Their beautiful and elegant design makes them perfect not only for storing your creations but also as the perfect container to gift your homemade preserves.

Moreover, they are excellent containers for keeping cookies, candies, sugar, flours, legumes, or dry pasta fresh for longer, or even for presenting delicious desserts!

Characteristics:

  • The jars are made of highly resistant and transparent glass.
  • All jars are fridge-safe and microwave-safe without the lid.
  • Dishwasher-safe containers.
  • The lids are not microwave or dishwasher-safe and must be hand washed.

Measurements:

Sizes Height without lid Lid diameter Weight
200 ml jar 8.5 cm 86 mm 274 g
250 ml jar 9.3 cm 70 mm 200 g
500 ml jar 13.6 cm 70 mm 333 g
1 L jar 16.9 cm 86 mm 536 g
300 ml amphora jar 9.8 cm 70 mm 245 g
500 ml amphora jar 11 cm 70 mm 362 g

NOTE: The Quattro Stagioni jars have been the undisputed leaders in Italy for generations in their specialty, preserving food. The rubber seal on their lids guarantees complete adherence to the glass, ensuring a perfect vacuum seal. Once the jar is opened and the vacuum is lost, the lid can no longer be used for a new preserve but is still suitable for keeping the jar closed. In that case, if used simply to close and not vacuum seal, remember that the lid is very thin and may deteriorate with use or rust when in contact with water (to avoid this, dry it thoroughly). For repeated vacuum sealing, you can purchase replacement lids in packs without having to buy a new jar.

Why we love the Quattro Stagioni jars by Bormioli Rocco

  1. These are the jars that have been making Italian families happy for over 40 years (when someone in Italy says "preserve," they instantly think of these jars!). You’re going to love them too because they’re practical, beautiful, and durable!
  2. The design of the lid is specifically engineered to create a vacuum without needing to tighten it with all your strength, as the elastic, thin seal allows air to escape and adheres securely to the glass.
  3. With Quattro Stagioni, the vacuum is visible and audible. You’ll see it when the center of the lid lowers and hear it when you open the jar and hear the fantastic "pop" of a perfect seal.
  4. There’s a model for everyone. Or all of them! Whatever preserve you make or food you want to store, a Quattro Stagioni jar has the solution.

NOTE: The jars come with lids, but they can be replaced if used for preserves (as the seal will only perform its vacuum function once). You can purchase additional lids for new vacuum sealing here.

History of Luigi Bormioli

The history of the Bormioli family is one of a passion for glass that has endured for generations. It all began in 1825 (100 years ago!), when Bormioli Rocco established its first glassworks in Fidenza, Parma, a region known for its rich history and artisanal tradition. Over time, the brand became a benchmark in the manufacture of high-quality table glassware, giving life in 1976 to its most iconic product: the "Quattro Stagioni" jar, the first household jar suitable for pasteurization—an essential in kitchens worldwide (a name as popular in Italy today as Chupa Chups are among kids).

In 1946, in the same historic city of Parma, Luigi Bormioli was born, a brand that further elevated the art of glassmaking by combining Italian craftsmanship with the most advanced technology to offer exceptional design pieces. In 2017, both brands merged under Luigi Bormioli, consolidating their legacy as a global leader in glassware, exporting to over 100 countries while maintaining a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and elegance.
