Surely you haven't seen a hedgehog as decorative and functional as the Terracotta Seed Sprouter Römertopf. This seed germination tray has everything you need to grow your own fresh and tender sprouts at home in the easiest and most charming way, because it is truly beautiful! Made of terracotta, fired red clay, and completely free of lead, cadmium, and harmful substances, with this little hedgehog you'll enjoy your favorite sprouts in just a few days.

Its construction in unglazed terracotta gives it the porosity needed to naturally regulate the moisture and temperature that seeds require to germinate evenly. You'll see how quickly you'll have fresh and tender sprouts, homegrown, to add to your salads, soups, sandwiches, or creams.

Made in Germany, it captivates with its original and charming handcrafted design. You'll watch the sprouts grow like the hedgehog's spines. The warm tone of the terracotta also makes it perfect as a decorative element you can place wherever you want.

How to use the Römertopf terracotta sprouter

Getting your sprouts in just a few days is very simple:

  • Moisten the sprouter by rinsing it with water and let it absorb some moisture.
  • Place the seeds on top, spreading them out so there is a thin layer without clumping.
  • Now lightly water the seeds, adding a few drops of water to moisten them. The terracotta surface will retain the moisture the seeds need to germinate.
  • Place the sprouter in a spot that receives natural light, but not direct sunlight.
  • From this moment on, you only need to check the seeds daily and add a little water if you see the surface is dry.
  • Wait 5 to 7 days and, ready! You'll have your sprouts ready to cut and enjoy fresh in any dish you want to add them to.

As you can see, besides being beautiful, this terracotta hedgehog is quite an invention. Simple, functional, and with a charming design, it is the perfect sprouter to successfully take your first steps in home sprout and germination cultivation.

All Römertopf cookware is made in Germany and Europe using high-quality German clay, ensuring gentle, even and toxin-free cooking. In addition to its signature clay pots, the brand is also known for its bread bins and vegetable storage jars, which help keep food fresh for longer, sustainably and without plastic.
