The history of WMF

Leader in cookware in Germany and a global benchmark, WMF is a company founded in 1853 in Geislingen (Germany), originally producing all kinds of metal articles. With nearly 6000 employees today, WMF has 40 offices worldwide and is known for the quality, durability, and excellent design of its products. Products such as the Pressure Cooker were born from WMF.

The Cromargan® finish, patented in 1930 by WMF, is exclusive to its products. This stainless steel alloy with an 18/10 ferrous combination gives the item great scratch resistance and is acid-resistant. Whether the finish is polished or satin matte, Cromargan® is easier to clean than other finishes and offers a lifetime unchanging appearance.
