Crepes, pancakes, omelettes, even grilled vegetables or meats, the versatile Lodge Cast Iron Crepe Maker lets you prepare whatever you like with great results. At 26.6cm in diameter , this cast iron crepe maker is a wonderful pan for unlimited cooking, thanks to its excellent temperature retention and even heat distribution across its surface. Sturdy and durable, it's also highly efficient.
The crepe maker has a slightly raised edge to keep the batter, oil or fat off of the food. Not only will you be able to prepare great crepes in no time, but this iron surface is a fantastic smooth griddle that you can use in the kitchen, in the oven or on the barbecue , to cook everything from vegetables to meat or fish, with a result full of flavour.
When you want to use the crepe maker, you just have to let it heat up gradually, so that the heat is evenly distributed across its surface, and start cooking when it is very hot. To clean it, let it cool down first; wash it with a sponge and non-abrasive detergent and lightly oil the inside surface to prevent rust. For optimal preservation, it is recommended to always store it in a dry place.
Please note that the crepe maker is made of cast iron and is made in one piece, so the handle gets hot. The silicone hot handle protector Lodge will allow you to handle your cast iron crepe maker safely and without burning yourself.
NOTE: Factory seasoning gives Lodge cast iron pieces a rustic finish with some imperfections, such as a brown mark on the rim, handle or grip. Don't worry! These are small spots where the oil hasn't soaked into the iron, but your piece is safe to use. This is not a defect or rust and will disappear with regular use and care.
Crêpes, pancakes or arepas, as well as griddled meat, fish or vegetables. It has a slightly raised edge that holds in the batter and fat. If you want to try it out, here's our crêpe batter recipe.
26.7 cm in diameter, 40.3 cm long including the handle and 3.8 cm high. It weighs 2.11 kg.
No. Lodge seasons it at the factory with vegetable oil, so you can use it as soon as it arrives. Every time you cook with fat, the seasoning gets better.
Yes. It works on all hobs, including induction, as well as in the oven, on the barbecue and over a campfire.
By hand, with hot water and a sponge; cast iron is not dishwasher safe. Dry it straight away and, if you like, rub it with a thin layer of oil. If a little rust ever appears, scrub it off with a scourer and oil it again. You'll find all the details in our Lodge guide (in Spanish).
