The Pallarès olive round-handle kitchen knives are as beautiful as the brand's most iconic model. The rounded olive wood handle is long-lasting, with its lovely grain and handcrafted construction, making each knife a unique piece, as elegant as it is practical and precise in cutting. Ideal for the kitchen and also for the table, you choose which Pallarès you want: with a carbon steel blade or with a stainless steel blade. Or, why not, both!

Pallarès kitchen knives

Since I was little I remember seeing pocketknives and Pallarès knives at home. My father used the pocketknives in the garden and I remember my grandfather always carried one in his pocket. When I began helping my mother in the kitchen, I discovered that she also used Pallarès knives for almost everything. Beautiful wooden knives that she still uses and cares for lovingly today.

These knives are handcrafted from iron (carbon steel) and olive wood. They are available with carbon steel blades and with stainless steel blades.

The carbon steel blade is more durable and stays sharp longer than stainless steel blades, but it is very important to dry them after use and keep them in a dry environment. Never put them in the dishwasher. We can also apply a drop of oil to the blade if we won't be using them for a while to prevent rust stains. In any case it is normal for them to darken a bit with time and use; a natural patina forms that is part of the charm of these knives.

If you prefer them with a stainless steel blade, they have exactly the same appearance and are perfect practical kitchen knives, since they do not rust nor require maintenance, other than always washing them by hand to protect the wooden handle.

Pallarès knives are light, balanced and have a very comfortable handle so they quickly become one of the most used knives in any kitchen. They are appreciated worldwide as a symbol of a knife with its own character made by hand. They can be found in specialty stores across Europe, the United States, and New Zealand and have appeared in trade publications for their character and distinctive design.

Which Pallarès knife to choose

Both models, carbon steel and stainless steel, are light and balanced and in both the handle is exactly the same, with its traditional rounded design that makes them very comfortable to use. The difference between them is the blade material, but both have the same quality, so it's best to choose the knife that best suits your needs:
  • Pallarès knife with a carbon steel blade. The blade is very durable, the edge stays sharp longer, it is easier to sharpen and offers very precise cutting. On the downside, it requires minimal maintenance and care to prevent rusting. They must always be washed by hand (never in the dishwasher), dried immediately and, if not used frequently, it's advisable to apply a little oil to the blade. Also, with use and time the blade will darken.
  • Pallarès knife with a stainless steel blade. These are the most common knives in the home environment, since the blade is more resistant to rust and doesn't require the same care as the previous one. Because the handle is wooden they should not be washed in the dishwasher. They are sturdy and durable, can be air-dried without issue and don't need oiling before storage.

The Pallarès olive round-handle kitchen knives are available in the following formats and sizes:

  • With carbon steel blade.
    • Sizes: 8 cm - 10 cm - 11 cm wide blade - 12 cm - 13 cm wide blade - 15 cm - 16 cm wide blade
  • With stainless steel blade.
    • Sizes: 8 cm - 10 cm - 11 cm wide blade - 12 cm - 13 cm wide blade - 16 cm wide blade.

Whether with a stainless blade or a carbon steel blade, it's advisable to condition the wooden handle to keep it in good condition by applying a few drops of oil with a paper towel.

The knives measuring 8, 10, 11 and 12 cm are undoubtedly perfect for the table, as are paring and multipurpose kitchen knives. The larger knives are perfect for filleting and chef's knives, to work comfortably and easily on cutting boards in the kitchen.

NOTE: If you notice spots or color changes on the knife blades, it is natural oil from the manufacturing process. All you need to do is wipe the blade with a paper towel and a little sunflower or olive oil; you'll see the spots spread out and disappear.
