Toast with banana and salted caramel

Grades

  • I love toasted bread, but if you have a good country bread and you don't want to toast it, it will also be great soft.
  • Pecans are softer and butterier, but you can use California nuts if you prefer.
  • Instead of salted caramel, you can spread your toast with melted chocolate, hazelnut spread, or peanut butter. Personally I prefer with salted caramel or with chocolate, they are addictive with the banana.
  • To decorate, you can use coconut flakes, or replace it with sliced hazelnuts or almonds. They combine perfectly with banana and honey, and add the final touch to the dish.
  • By personal preference I apply a soft honey, normally rosemary or thousand flowers, or failing that, agave syrup; but in this recipe, if you like strong flavors, an orange or chestnut honey will also be great.
  • It is important to serve it after preparing it, or the plantain will darken and lose its charm.
  • If you don't want to use honey, but are in the mood for a sweet and delicious breakfast, you can use caramelized walnuts. It's a great option and every crunch tastes like a breakfast of champions. You can see how to make caramelized walnuts in this post .
