Today I'm bringing you a sugar-free drink - a quick and very comforting recipe, perfect for enjoying a creamy coffee with a spicy twist that is very appealing. The spiced date latte macchiato has come to stay at home, because it is very easy to make and ready in no time. As soon as the craving hits, in just a few minutes you can enjoy this delicious drink.
Part of the creaminess and warmth in the final flavor of this coffee comes from the dates we add. Besides being an excellent and healthy natural sweetener, dates have a high fiber content and minerals such as potassium and magnesium. They add a caramelized touch that pairs wonderfully with the coffee and the drink's spices.

This coffee is so simple that I'm not sure we could even call it a recipe. As I always say, I encourage you to adapt this drink to your taste. By changing the plant-based drink or using cow's milk, varying the spices, or trying coffees from different origins. In any case, don't miss out on trying this spiced date latte macchiato. I'm sure you're going to love it.
Ingredients
- 4 Medjool dates
- 120 ml of plant-based drink (the one you usually use or, if you prefer, cow's milk)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation
- Remove the pits from the dates and cut them into small pieces. If they seem a little dry, before cutting them, leave them in hot water for 5-10 minutes to soften them.
- Put the chopped dates, plant-based drink, vanilla extract, cardamom, and cinnamon in your WMF jug blender. Blend until all the ingredients are well combined and you have a creamy mixture.
- Prepare a cup of crema coffee to your taste with your Full Auto Perfection 840 WMF coffee machine.
- Add the plant-based drink and spice mixture to the coffee, stir gently, and enjoy every sip.
Tips
- As I mentioned, this drink is perfect for flavoring or seasoning to your taste. I think it's so adaptable that the range of latte macchiatos you can make from this recipe is endless.
- You can use any plant-based drink: oat, almond, rice, walnut, or hazelnut. Whether store-bought or homemade (for that, the Chufamix is ideal). You can also use cow's milk and even light cream or evaporated milk.
- Using different coffees will also change the result. With this variable, you can really experiment, since depending on the origin you choose, there will be spices or drinks that pair better and enhance the final flavor.
- Although I think dates are ideal, if you prefer you can sweeten it with honey, brown sugar, panela, or coconut sugar, for example.
- The same goes for the spices as for the plant-based drink. You can add, remove, or vary them to your taste.
