Cast aluminum pancake pans were one of the first products Nordic Ware made, more than 70 years ago . The original "Platte Panne" pan was a traditional (Swedish-style) style pancake pan, intended for making thin, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes. That simple, but most effective design in cooking is still part of the Nordic Ware collection!
Over the years, they have increased the number of designs, but it is always the same base to which some drawing or animation is added, to make themed or fun pancakes.
Nordic Ware founder Dotty Dalquist developed traditional recipes in her home in the 1950s, which are still prepared in the kitchens of many Americans.
How to use the pan for pancakes or pancakes
You can use it on gas, electric and ceramic stoves. You just have to mix the ingredients of your favorite dough and turn on the heat. Surprising at home with some delicious pancakes is very simple:
- Put the pan on the heat, at low/medium power, to heat it up.
- Grease the cavities with butter or baking spray, using a brush to coat the entire cavity.
- With a spoon or ladle, pour the pancake batter you have prepared into each cavity.
- Keep on heat until bubbles stop forming. This, along with the browned edges, tells you it's time to flip the pancakes.
- Flip them with the help of a spatula and when they are also done on the other side, remove them to a plate.
- Repeat the previous steps until you finish the prepared dough.
- Serve, and accompany the pancakes with honey, syrup, chocolate, fruit... They are delicious! And if you make them salty, with the sauce you like the most!
