With a great width and exactly like the traditional cocotte, but with lower walls, the Evolution Le Creuset Shallow Cast Iron Round Casserole is an ideal casserole for all kinds of roasts, rice dishes, fish, brothy stews, biscuits... Known as the risotto casserole cast iron or the low roaster type cocotte, it is a very versatile piece with which you will achieve excellent and tasty results in all your recipes.

This low cocotte is exactly the same, with the same shape, material and finishes, as the most popular Le Creuset cocotte, but with two advantages to take into account:

  • By having lower walls there is less amount of iron, therefore, it is not as heavy as the traditional cocotte of the same diameter.
  • The lid, which will heat up like the rest of the cocotte in the oven, being closer to the food and radiating heat, helps it cook faster, and especially with meats, you get a fabulous roast (the meat turns golden brown more quickly).

It is an ideal cocotte if you do not need the height to make cooked pasta, soups and creams or similar, if what you are looking for is a wide cocotte and the height is not essential in your stews.

The cocotte is a piece coveted by all cooks in the world. It guarantees years of pleasure in the kitchen and at the table. The new Evolution cocotte It is the latest Le Creuset model, which includes the following improvements over the previous ones:

  • Larger handles to be able to hold and transport the iron pot from the oven to the table with greater comfort and safety even with kitchen gloves.
  • Vitrified interior more resistant to stains, wear and scratches. It is also easier to clean than traditional vitrified.
  • New lid design with a better fit to retain moisture and flavor inside the cocotte.
  • More ergonomic and comfortable knob to hold.
