Just as French and versatile as the traditional Le Creuset round cocotte, this new version of the Le Creuset Cast Iron Round Casserole with Glass Lid has been designed for a more dynamic everyday life. Look at all its advantages:
This round enameled cast iron saucepan from Le Creuset is an ideal choice for slow cooking. With a diameter of 22 cm, this cocotte has a capacity of 3.3 liters, making it perfect for households of up to 3-4 people.
The enameled interior provides a perfect surface for browning food without burning. Plus, it's easy to clean. The enamel is resistant and can withstand intensive use (although it is especially recommended never to put it over high heat, the iron will distribute the heat fabulously). An advantage of the enameled interior is that it does not allow acids to affect the cast iron. This means that you can cook a tomato sauce in this saucepan without it taking on the iron flavor.
It comes with a glass lid so you can keep an eye on your food while it cooks. It is also oven safe, resisting temperatures of up to 200°C if you use it with the lid.
You can use it on all types of cookers, including induction ones.
Upper diameter | Base diameter | Height | Capacity | Portions |
22 cm | 17.5 cm | 9.6 cm | 3.3 liters | 3-4 |
Note: If you want your cocotte with a glass lid to be able to go in the oven up to 250 ºC, it is possible! The only thing you have to do is change the phenolic knob for a steel one (doing so is very easy, it is done by simply turning a screw). You will find the Le Creuset steel knobs here (knobs for iron and glass cocotte lids).
NOTE: The cocotte with a black exterior has a black vitrified interior, being exactly the same vitrified iron material as the rest of the cocottes, but without the cream-colored enamel.
