De Buyer has introduced a new frying pan model designed especially for us – the lovers of their iron pans! It’s their popular Mineral B frying pan, now with an even more rustic finish thanks to the beechwood inserts in the handle. These inserts make cooking more comfortable, help prevent burns, and give the pan a beautiful appearance. I find it absolutely gorgeous!

The Mineral B iron pans by De Buyer are ideal for healthy cooking, as they are made from iron without any chemical treatments or synthetic coatings. They’re perfect for searing meats, sautéing vegetables or frying eggs. They are also suitable for all heat sources, including induction.

  1. Handcrafted from iron.
  2. Free from chemical treatments, coatings and heavy metals.
  3. Treated with a natural beeswax coating that protects the pan from the factory to your home.
  4. With use, they develop a patina that creates a naturally non-stick surface.
  5. Perfect for browning, roasting, sautéing or frying.
  6. Compatible with all heat sources, including induction.
  7. Not suitable for oven use.
  8. As with all Mineral B pans, they're made in France!

Why we love the Mineral B iron frying pan with beechwood handle

  1. The mineral iron distributes heat so evenly across the whole surface that everything cooks beautifully and browns perfectly.
  2. They’re built to last. They’ll last a lifetime if you care for them properly – and you know how to do that.
  3. The beechwood handle gives it a lovely look and helps make cooking more comfortable.

Important things to know about Mineral B iron pans
  • De Buyer pans are made in France and are the only ones with a certified iron purity of over 99%. The very best!
  • They’re made of iron, so yes – they can rust. How to avoid it? Avoid prolonged contact with water and never let them air-dry: just dry them thoroughly with a cloth after washing. If you like, you can place them over low heat for a few minutes to evaporate any remaining moisture while you tidy up (a super easy and useful trick).
  • If you're not going to use them for a while, you can rub a bit of oil over the surface with a paper towel, though it's not strictly necessary.
  • Before first use, we highly recommend seasoning them. It makes them naturally non-stick. Seasoning is super simple – just check out the video in the photos section to learn how.
  • This is a pan for life! You can scrub it with a soft sponge or even with steel wool to remove stuck-on food – nothing will happen to the pan! (There’s no non-stick coating to damage). The surface may go black, either entirely or in spots – no worries, the darker it gets, the better it performs.
  • If you see tiny rust spots, rub with oiled paper towel – they’ll disappear like magic. For larger spots, scrub with steel wool – don’t worry, it’s solid iron all the way through.
  • If you’ve had to scrub it hard or just feel like it, you can season it again – but it’s not absolutely necessary.
