With its generous size, the cotton pressing and straining cloth by Küchenprofi will surprise you with its versatility and how helpful it is in the kitchen. The fine mesh cotton cloth, 80 x 65 cm, allows you to strain, filter, press, and drain all kinds of preparations, from sauces to horchata, yogurt, jam, or broth. Lightweight, easy to store and clean, this cotton cloth is a timeless classic—an essential in every kitchen.

What you can use the cotton cloth for

The Küchenprofi cotton cloth measures 80 cm long by 65 cm wide, and is perfect for many everyday kitchen tasks. It's practical and easy to wash, either by hand or in the washing machine at up to 60°C. You’ll use it often, for example:

  • Straining broths, stocks, and clear soups. Perfect for filtering and removing impurities for a cleaner texture. Just place it over a strainer and you’re ready!
  • Filtering homemade plant-based drinks. After blending the ingredients, use the cloth to strain every last drop – ideal for horchata!
  • Making tea, herbal infusions or spice sachets. Place the ingredients in the centre and tie it like a pouch before steeping in hot water.
  • Infusing sauces, broths, and soups. Just like with teas, use it to flavour your dishes with herbs and spices. Make your own bouquet garni!
  • Filtering juices and pulp. For clear, pulp-free juice, use the cloth to strain or press the fruit.
  • Making homemade cheese. Very useful to separate the whey from the curd for the right consistency.
  • Thickening yoghurt. To get traditional Greek-style yoghurt, let the whey drain through the cloth until your desired texture is achieved.
  • Draining homemade butter. Perfect for removing the excess whey.
  • Straining infused oils and vinegars. Ideal to achieve a clear result without residue.
  • Keeping herbs or salad leaves fresh longer. Moisten the cloth, wrap the leaves and store in the fridge—they’ll stay fresh longer.

Claudia’s tip: Don’t throw away the whey from your cheese, butter, or yoghurt. It’s nutritious and great for soups, bread dough, cakes, and muffins.
