This Iron Tortilla Pan Mineral B by De Buyer is a dream for tortilla lovers. You’ll cook them to perfection thanks to the excellent heat distribution provided by its rimless design. You’ll achieve Michelin-star tortillas!
As French as La Marseillaise, De Buyer’s Mineral iron pans are eco-friendly, recyclable and built to last a lifetime.
- Handcrafted from natural iron, without chemicals or heavy metals.
- Made without chemicals, artificial coatings or heavy metals,
- They are treated with a natural beeswax coating that protects the pan from the factory until it reaches your home.
- With use, they develop a patina that makes them naturally non-stick.
- This model was designed to give the perfect shape to tortillas, but thanks to its low sides it is ideal for searing meat, sautéing vegetables or frying eggs.
- Suitable for all heat sources, including induction.
- And they can be used in the oven for 10 minutes at 200 °C, as they do not have a wooden handle.
This is the pan our grandmothers always had at home! The iron pan that will bring back those authentic and delicious flavours. A pan worth its weight in gold, and it will last you a lifetime!
Remember we have a protective handle cover for De Buyer iron pans to help prevent burns when handling the pan.
Why we love the Mineral B Iron Tortilla Pan by De Buyer
- It is designed especially for this purpose, as the absence of rims allows you to slide the tortilla effortlessly onto the plate.
- The natural non-stick properties of these pans make them perfect for preparing tortillas – how did we not think of it before?
Important things to know about Mineral B iron pans
- De Buyer pans are made in France and the only ones with a certificate of iron purity above 99%. The best!
- They are iron pans, so they can rust. How to prevent it? Avoid prolonged contact with water and do not leave them to air dry: simply dry them with a cloth after washing. You can also place them back on a low heat for a few minutes to remove any remaining moisture (a very simple and useful tip).
- If you are not going to use them for several days, you can apply a little oil and spread it over the surface with kitchen paper, though this is by no means essential.
- Before first use, it is highly recommended to season them. Seasoning makes them more naturally non-stick. It’s very easy to do. Watch the video between the photos to see how.
- You have a pan for life! You can scrub it with a soft sponge or even use a scouring pad if needed to remove food – nothing will happen to the pan! (there is no coating to damage). They may turn black evenly or in patches. Don’t worry – the blacker they become, the better they perform.
- If small rust spots appear, rub them with kitchen paper and oil and they will disappear like magic. If the rusty area is larger, use a scouring pad without fear. Nothing will happen; it is a pan made entirely of iron: beneath the iron layer, there is more iron.
- If you have scrubbed it with a scouring pad or simply feel like it, you can season it again, but this is absolutely not essential.
