This grater is the version of the classic Microplane model but designed to grate spices and hard foods with ease. It has the finest blade, making it ideal for grating a pinch of nutmeg, ginger, garlic, or chocolate. It measures 21cm long and has a cutting surface of 12.2x1.3cm.

The history of Microplane

Made in the United States, Microplane graters have become the benchmark for this type of utensil due to their sharp and durable blades that cut food like no other. It all started in 1994, when a carpenter's wife was preparing an orange tart. Fed up with how poorly her grater was working, she tried one of her husband's favorite woodworking tools. She slid the orange against the blade and was amazed: the tiny shavings fell like snowflakes.

The discovery of the Microplane woodworking tool, capable of creating the finest orange shavings imaginable, laid the foundation for the success of this brand's graters.
