The Marcel wood-fired oven is the ideal oven for home cooks who want to enjoy authentic breads, meats, pizzas, and more at home, with the flavor and results of cooking in a true wood-fired oven, in an oven that, unlike traditional ones, takes up very little space and also runs on wood logs, pellets, charcoal, or sawdust. That’s the Marcel oven!

It’s an oven designed for outdoor use, although it can also be used under a range hood. You can cook fish, meat, pizza, bread, and pastries in the most authentic way. It can reach up to 500 ºC in just a few minutes! And its size is ideal for making the most of it without taking up much space. And if you use sawdust from different types of wood, you can smoke with different flavor results every time!

The new wood-fired oven was conceived and patented by kitchen specialist Louis Tellier. The idea behind MARCEL was to recapture the spirit of old-fashioned bread ovens, while keeping the footprint small to fit today’s homes.

It’s easy to use thanks to its rear burner (suitable for logs or pellets) and its flame-blocking valve system that enables all kinds of cooking. You can easily control the temperature and get great results for your delicious recipes!

The Marcel oven, includes a 33 x 37 cm baking stone, 15 mm thick, so you can achieve those ideal bakes for bread and pizza doughs.

Plus, you can enjoy Marcel anywhere. It’s the new must-have for patios and gardens.

Marcel is the latest product from Louis Tellier, a French kitchenware manufacturer since 1947, who draws on his knowledge and experience in the world’s great kitchens.

Marcel is the only oven in its class that can handle every type of cooking: PATENTED FLAME BLOCKING VALVE SYSTEM.

  • Valve closed: Flame blocked in the oven’s upper chamber. Inertia cooking: standard cooking. (150 to 250°C / 302 - 392°F) (e.g., bread, meat, fish, vegetables, stews, cakes, and desserts)
  • Valve open: Heat concentrated at the top of the flue for fast, high-temperature cooking (450 to 500°C / 842 - 932°F) (e.g., pizzas, roasts).

Features:

  • Professional quality: Made of stainless steel with a sturdy thickness: it’s a robust, durable oven, designed to withstand outdoor weather conditions, making it usable all year round.
  • Ceramic fiber insulation: prevents heat loss, optimizing the heat source and heating quickly.

  • Rear burner for use with wood, charcoal, pellets, or sawdust.

  • Drawer system for the fuel, easy to use (and removable, easy to clean).
  • Can reach 500°C (932°F) in under 20 minutes.
  • Temperature regulator.
  • Total weight = 36 kg
  • Interior ceramic fiber insulation.
  • Professional thermometer at the front for optimal temperature control.
  • Small front window to monitor the cooking process.
  • Includes a 330 x 370 mm baking stone, 15 mm thick.
  • Interior dimensions (L x W x H): 519 x 340 x 205 mm For example, you can bake a 30 cm pizza, a 28 cm loaf, or two baguettes
  • External dimensions in use mode: (L x W x H): 755 x 439 x 918 mm
  • External dimensions in storage mode: (L x W x H): 755 x 439 x 335 mm

How to use the Marcel oven:

  1. Using the wood-fired oven is as easy as it gets:
  2. Fill the rear drawer with charcoal, logs, chips, or pellets and light it (as if you were lighting a fireplace—just get the flame going).
  3. Close the drawer and, with the front door closed, let it come up to temperature.
  4. When it reaches your desired temperature (you’ll see it easily with the built-in door probe thermometer), open and insert the tray, skillet, baking dish, dough, pizza… whatever you like.
  5. Close it and let it cook. You can watch the progress without opening the door, thanks to the glass window.
  6. To lower or raise the temperature, simply pull or push the handles on the door to open or close the flame intake.
  7. When it’s ready, open and remove from the oven.

Why we love Tellier’s Marcel wood-fired oven

  1. It recreates, in a size ideal for patios and gardens, a traditional wood-fired oven, with all the aroma and fabulous cooking it brings to all kinds of doughs, meats, and fish.
  2. You can use it with wood, pellets, or charcoal, the point is simply to light a heat source in the drawer—the oven will do the rest.
  3. You can adjust the heat intensity easily.
  4. If you use sawdust or pellets, you can smoke (if you use different woods each time or depending on what you’re smoking, you’ll get incredible, varied results every time).
  5. Because it’s compact, so well insulated, and with the heat source so close (in the same drawer), it reaches a very high temperature incredibly fast.
  6. It includes a baking stone of substantial thickness, which makes dough baking even better.
  7. Easy to light, use, and maintain!
  8. It lets you cook a host of varied dishes with amazing results —it’s the classic oven people used to have in the kitchen, now in a size designed for today’s homes!

Note: If you’re interested in food-grade pellets, you can use the ones we have here. If what you want is wood chips or sawdust for smoking, we recommend these wood chips from Zwilling.
