The De Buyer Mineral B iron pan is available with a detachable handle so you can store it in your kitchen taking up less space. Because we don't have a mansion kitchen.

- With a design more French than the Eiffel Tower, De Buyer's Mineral B pans are handcrafted from natural iron sheets, without the use of chemicals or strange coatings or heavy metals.
- They are polished with a layer of beeswax that protects the pan, giving them a naturally non-stick surface.
- Perfect for browning meats, stir-frying vegetables, or making fried eggs.
- Suitable for all heat sources including induction.
- They can be put in the oven without the handle.
- Made in France!
Why we like the Mineral B iron pan with detachable handle
- If we were already fans of the De Buyer Mineral B iron pan, the detachable handle makes storage much easier.
- This new feature does not diminish its robustness at all. It remains a pure-blooded De Buyer.
- Being oven-safe, it's perfect for gratin or giving your recipes a blast of heat.
Things to know about Mineral B iron pans
- De Buyer pans are made in France and are the only ones with a certification of iron purity exceeding 99%. The best!
- Since they are iron pans, they can rust. How to prevent it? Avoid prolonged contact with water, don't let them air dry: simply dry them with a cloth after washing. If you want, you can leave them on low heat for a few minutes to remove all moisture while you finish cooking (it's a super easy trick to follow and very useful).
- If you're not going to use them for many days, you can apply a little oil and spread it over the surface with a paper towel, but it's not essential.
- Before the first use, it's very interesting to season them. This seasoning makes them more naturally non-stick. Seasoning is super simple to do. Watch the video among the photos to see how to do it.
- You have a pan for life! You can scrub it with a soft sponge, or wash it with detergent if needed to remove food, it won't harm the pan! (there's no non-stick coating to damage). They can turn black, evenly or in patches. Don't worry, the blacker they get, the better they'll perform.
- If rust spots appear, rub a paper towel with oil, and you'll see how it magically disappears. If the rusted area is larger, use the detergent without fear. It won't harm anything; it's a totally iron pan: beneath the iron layer, there's more iron.
- If you've had to scrub it with detergent or if you simply feel like it, you can season it again, but it's not essential to do it regularly.
