Inspired by their first pancake pan, the Nordic Ware Original Silver Dollar Pancake Pan is the perfect pan for making your best pancakes. It features a smooth seven-cavity design and is made of cast aluminum with a nonstick coating , so you can make pancakes in no time and nothing will stick.

Cast aluminum pancake pans were one of the first products Nordic Ware made, over 70 years ago . The original "Platte Panne" pan was a traditional (Swedish style) pancake pan, designed to make thin, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes. That simple, yet highly effective design is still part of the Nordic Ware collection!
Over the years, the number of designs has increased, but it is always the same base to which some drawing or animation is added, to make themed or fun pancakes.
Nordic Ware founder Dotty Dalquist developed traditional recipes in her home back in the 1950s, which are still prepared in the kitchens of many Americans today.
How to use a pancake pan
You can use it on gas, electric and ceramic cooktops. All you have to do is mix the ingredients of your favourite dough and turn on the heat. Surprising your guests at home with delicious pancakes is very easy:
- Place the pan on the stove, at low/medium power, to heat it up.
- Grease the cavities with butter or baking spray, using a brush to cover the entire cavity.
- Using a spoon or ladle, pour the prepared pancake batter into each cavity.
- Keep cooking until bubbles stop forming. This, along with the golden edges, tells you it's time to flip the pancakes.
- Turn them over with a spatula and when they are done on the other side as well, remove them to a plate.
- Repeat the previous steps until you finish the prepared dough.
- Serve and accompany the pancakes with honey, syrup, chocolate, fruit... They are delicious! And if you make them savoury, with the sauce of your choice!
