The Kilner® Vacuum Sealing Screw-On Rings Set of 6 is a pack of 6 gold-coloured metal screw-on rings for Kilner® jars. These rings are the replacement parts needed to seal and vacuum seal your preserves in Kilner® glass jars.

Kilner® preserving jar lids are made up of two pieces :

  • The screw-on ring . This is the part that closes the jar and keeps the sealing disc in place, pressurizing it and adjusting it by creating a vacuum. This screw-on ring should be replaced after being used 10 times .
  • The sealing disc . It is a single-use flat metal disc with a rubber seal , which ensures the correct sealing and preservation of food. The rubber seal on the sealing discs for Kilner® preserving jars allows air to escape from the jar during boiling, creating a vacuum and adhering to the glass. The centre of the disc lowers, ensuring the correct vacuum for a long time.

The Kilner® Vacuum Sealing Screw Ring Set of 6 is only suitable for use with Kilner® Preserving Jars and includes only 6 replacement sealing rings , one of the two parts of the lid. If you wish to purchase the sealing discs, to have the complete lid, you can find the set of 12 here .

If you use Kilner® jars to preserve your home-made preserves, you will need to replace the screw-top sealing ring after 10 uses, to vacuum seal the glass jar and keep your new preserves as safe as the old ones.

The rings in the set of 6 have a diameter of 7.8 mm and are suitable for use with the following jars:

  • 250 ml
  • 500 ml
  • 1 liter

They are not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher, they must be washed by hand.

Why we love the Kilner® Vacuum Sealing Screw Ring Set of 6

  1. These are the spare parts needed to seal and vacuum seal your preserves.
  2. Since they have to be changed every 10 uses, they guarantee the vacuum of each preserve.
  3. In addition to preserving, you can use it together with the sealing disc as a lid for Kilner ® jars or cans.

The history of Kilner

The first original Kilner® jar was invented by John Kilner and Co. in England, starting the production of bottles, jars, and pharmacy items in 1842 and winning several international awards in 1870.

Kilner®'s expansion came with the new 20th century, when they introduced their famous patented vacuum sealing system and began exporting worldwide. Today, Kilner® jars are a benchmark, and the brand offers a wide catalog of products that provide simple solutions for food preparation and preservation, with a practical and innovative design.
