How to use the Nordic Ware smoker

  1. Smoker Setup: Decide whether you want to dry or wet smoke. Place the drip tray over the wood chips. Fill the drip tray with liquid if you prefer wet smoking.

  2. Adding Food: Place food on the smoking tray, spreading it out to allow smoke to pass through.

  3. Begin Smoking: Place the lid on the base and adjust the ventilation to your preference. Place the smoker over the stove burner or grill over medium-low heat.

  4. Temperature Control: Adjust the heat to maintain an internal smoker temperature of 90°C - 100°C. Start the timer when the thermometer reaches the desired temperature.

  5. Finishing Smoking: Leave the lid closed for at least 15 minutes before opening. Use an instant thermometer to check the doneness of the food if necessary.

Care and advice:

  4. It is recommended to wrap the drip tray in aluminum foil for easy cleaning.

How the Nordic Ware Smoker Works

To use it, we will put a couple of tablespoons of smoking wood chips (you can find chips of different types of wood here) in the container and then the liquid tray on top. We can cook without adding any liquid to the tray or by adding a glass of water to the tray. Cooking with some liquid will allow us to obtain more tender meats and even add flavor if we use beer or add some juice or wine to the water.

Place the food on the tray, cover it and put the smoker on medium heat until it reaches 200-220ºC inside. It is very important to maintain this temperature range by adjusting both the power of the fire and opening the upper doors if we want to lower the internal temperature. Depending on the piece we are going to cook, we should leave the smoker on the heat for up to two hours, always monitoring the internal temperature for optimal cooking of the food.

Lo que esperaba

Es lo q esperaba, cumple su funcion bien, como pega quiza q el metal donde se quema la madera coge carbonilla muy rapido y es dificil de quitar, y tb q la temperatura, poniendolo en vitro, no llega a 100 grados mas q al cabo de mucho tiempo ( horas), por lo q es dificil preparar las recetas cumpliendo los tiempos y las temperaturas a rajatabla

Ahumados caseros espectaculares

Compre el ahumador hace un año pero por la información que leí en la descripción del producto compre por otro lado un adaptador para la induccion ya que solo tengo ese tipo de fuego en casa. La primera vez use lo usamos fue undesastre porque con el adaptador no alcanzaba la temperatura adecuada así que la siguiente vez lo usamos en el horno, y mientras subía la temperatura vi en algún blog que si valía para induccion.. Lo probamos y voila!! Conclusión: VALE PARA INDUCCION. Funciona genial, hacemos pescado ahumado en caliente (hot smoked salmon, haddock...) tan rico como el que se come en Inglaterra! Estamos encantados.

Es la 1ª vez que compro artículos de cocina por internet y estoy sorprendida de la rapidez y el buen estado en que me han llegado.
Sólo he usado el ahumador haciendo alitas para probar, pero tengo en tareas pendientes el magret que tenéis en el blog
