Sheep wool is a perfect temperature insulator, so after putting a bottle inside the sheep wool cover, it is insulated from the outside. Thus, if you put a cold bottle inside the sleeve, keeps it cold for up to 4 hours! It has become the first truly effective, natural and 100% biodegradable cover in the world, being much more effective than the vast majority of covers made with synthetic materials.

Designer and promoter of KYWIE, Saskia Nooij presented in 2013 the most intelligent, functional and sustainable way to maintain the temperature of the bottles: the KYWIE wine cooler, a natural, beautiful and durable product.

After a successful professional career in the food industry, Saskia Nooji's passion for wines, especially whites, led her to design a wine cooler that was as beautiful as it was durable.

The brand's philosophy is to work with a natural biodegradable material and keep the ecological footprint to a minimum, firmly betting on manufacturing by hand, mostly in the Netherlands, with sheepskin from the local Texel breed.
