The Set of 12 Kilner® vacuum sealing discs is a pack that includes 12 flat golden metallic lids with a rubber gasket for Kilner® jars. These single-use discs are the necessary replacement parts for vacuum sealing your preserves in Kilner® glass jars.
Kilner® canning jar lids are made up of two pieces :

The sealing disc . It is a flat, single-use metal disc with a rubber gasket , which ensures the correct sealing and preservation of food. The rubber gasket on the sealing discs for Kilner® canning jars allows air to escape from the jar during boiling, creating a vacuum and adhering to the glass. The center of the disc goes down, correctly ensuring the vacuum for a long time.

The ring with screw closure . It is the piece with which the can is closed and that keeps the disc in place , pressurizing it and adjusting it when creating a vacuum. This ring can be used a maximum of 10 times.
The Set of 12 Kilner® vacuum sealing discs is only valid for use with Kilner® Canning Jars and includes only 12 replacement units of the flat discs , one of the two parts of the lid. If you want to buy the rings with screw closure, to have the complete cover, you can find the set of 6 units here .
If you use Kilner® jars to can your home preserves, you will need to replace the metal disc with a new one, so that each new preserve you make is as safe as the last. Once the can is opened, the disk rises and is apt to keep the can closed, but not apt to evacuate again .
The discs in the 12-piece set have a diameter of 6.8mm and are suitable for use with the following jars:

They are not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher, they must be washed by hand.
