When elegance and sophistication meet culinary excellence, the Prima Matera De Buyer copper stockpot (induction) takes the stage. A copper piece, an iconic material in French gastronomy, that combines tradition and innovation, and whose design and manufacturing, partly handcrafted, make it a unique tool with which you can create your best culinary masterpieces.
A copper pot with a stainless steel lid with which you can cook all kinds of stews very efficiently over low heat, achieving results like those of the best chefs. Thanks to the high thermal conductivity of copper, it achieves fast and even cooking, not only at the base but throughout the entire body of the pot.
Ideal for preparing festive dishes such as bouillabaisse, all kinds of stews—meat, legumes, or vegetables—creams or soups, there will be no stew that isn’t delicious.
What distinguishes the Prima Matera De Buyer collection (induction)
In 2010, De Buyer created the first and only line of solid copper cookware in the world compatible with induction, representing a technological revolution for this iconic material in French cooking. De Buyer’s most elegant collection consists of unique pieces with timeless design and is distinguished by:
-
Its exceptional composition. It is the only collection in the world made from a material composed of 90% copper and 10% 18/10 stainless steel.
-
It is compatible with all cooktops, including induction. Its special ferromagnetic stainless steel base allows its use on any heat source, including induction cooktops.
-
It is also oven safe.
-
The 90% copper exterior guarantees excellent thermal conductivity, superior to iron and multilayer stainless steel, for perfect cooking control and wonderful results. The perfect heat transmission and the guarantee of a constant temperature make it a material with extraordinary performance in the kitchen, even at low heat.
-
The 10% 18/10 stainless steel interior is food safe and does not alter the properties of copper.
- Its elegant design, which perfectly combines tradition with innovation, timeless materials with extraordinary finishes.
-
The manufacturing of the Prima Matera line is done in France and requires more than 18 steps, including stamping and hand polishing of the copper, following an ancient artisan tradition that makes each utensil a unique piece.
-
The handles and grips are made of cast stainless steel and are cold-riveted. Its modern design, with a French curve, besides being elegant, is ergonomic and provides great comfort when handling the pieces.
- The lid, made of stainless steel and slightly domed, fits perfectly on the pot. The riveted handle is made of cast stainless steel. Its exterior finish is bright polished.
-
The collection is distinguished by its high-quality mirror finish, with the production code engraved on the bottom.
- The stainless steel interior makes cleaning easier, which should always be done by hand. Prima Matera pieces are not dishwasher safe.

Note: The pieces should be heated gradually and never used at high heat (maximum 3/4 of the induction cooktop’s power). Thanks to copper’s high thermal conductivity (higher than iron or multilayer stainless steel), higher power is not required. To avoid thermal shocks and burns, allow them to cool after use before cleaning or handling.
