With the Eissen 1888 Rösle Forged Iron Skillet you can roast, fry, brown, and sear meats, fish, or vegetables with wonderful results. This steel skillet without non-stick coating, completely free of PFOA and PTFE, is ideal for all types of cooktops, the oven, and the grill. The ridges in its design are perfect for caramelizing and searing food.

The 1888 skillet carries in its name the history of RÖSLE. Forged in the traditional way, with worked iron and a welded handle, it is a piece that reflects the brand’s essence: robustness, precision, and beauty in simplicity. Its name is no coincidence: 1888 marks the brand’s origin and pays tribute to the year when Karl Theodor Rösle, a master tinsmith, founded in Germany the workshop that gave rise to a company now recognized for its impeccable quality. More than a century later, this skillet still conveys that same artisanal spirit: honest, durable utensils made to accompany you for a lifetime.

Its quick heating, excellent heat retention, and even heat distribution guarantee excellent results with full flavor.

Its long welded iron handle makes it very manageable and safe, and its hook at the end allows you to hang it for easy access. You can comfortably take it from the stove to the oven to give your dishes a wonderful finish, or from the grill to the table to serve directly. It’s a skillet that will last you a lifetime, and with which you can cook at high temperatures, achieving incredible results and the most natural flavor.

The ridges in its design allow you to get the typical grill marks. But beyond that, it also channels air and juices beneath the foodhelps you create a caramelization process that gives you a fabulous griddle result. Your barbecues will be truly authentic with perfect results!

. It’s a skillet for life, like the ones from the old days. Being made of iron, without coatings or linings, you can use any utensil with it without fear of damage. After the initial seasoning and as you use it, you’ll see the skillet darken and develop a patina that, besides enhancing its natural non-stick properties, protects it from environmental conditions.

How to start cooking with it

It’s good to do a first seasoning: brush the skillet with oil and place it on the heat. Let the oil warm up and brush again with a little more oil. After a few minutes, you can start cooking your food, or if you want to store it, let it cool, wipe off the excess with a paper towel, and store it.

When you want to use it, just let it heat gradually, so the heat distributes evenly throughout the piece, and start cooking when it’s very hot.

You’ll see how it seals the food, and once sealed, you can easily flip it. To clean it, let it cool first; wash with a sponge and non-abrasive detergent, and lightly oil the interior surface to prevent rust. For optimal preservation, it’s recommended to always store it in a dry place.

NOTE: Since it’s a forged skillet with a welded handle, its finish is more rustic and may show some imperfections, marks, or scratches. This is not a defect and does not affect the skillet’s proper use and function.
