The Mineral B iron Steak pan is the classic Mineral B pan from De Buyer but with the traditional design of ridged base to caramelize and sear meats and fish. With it, you'll look like a true professional!
The ridges on the steak pan's base allow you to quickly and clearly get the typical grill marks on your food. But beyond that, the air and juice circulation beneath the food helps you create a caramelization process that gives you a fabulous griddle result. Your barbecues will be truly authentic with perfect results!
Although it is specially designed for griddle cooking, remember that you can use the Steak pan not just for that purpose: it's a pan, so you can sauté some vegetables, some noodles... Get the most out of this all-rounder!
It's an iron pan, suitable for the stove but also for the barbecue, oven, or fireplace (you can already imagine grilling some sausages or making burgers with that smoky flavor, right?).
More French than Coco Chanel, the Mineral B pans from De Buyer are exactly what you were looking for to cook healthily at home.
- Handcrafted from iron.
- Without using chemicals or strange coatings nor heavy metals,
- They are treated with a natural beeswax layer that protects the pan from the factory until it reaches your home.
- With use, they develop a patina that makes them naturally non-stick.
-
Ideal both for browning or roasting meats and for sautéing vegetables or frying eggs.
- Suitable for all heat sources including induction.
- They can be put in the oven (they can go in the oven at 200 ºC for ten minutes).
This is the classic pan, the grandmother's iron pan, which lets you recover those authentic and delicious flavors. It’s not a lightweight pan, but it’s worth its weight in gold, and it will last you a lifetime at home!
Remember we have a handle protector cover for De Buyer iron pans, which will help you avoid burns when handling the pan.

Things that are important to know about Mineral B iron pans
- It’s definitely an all-rounder. De Buyer pans are made in France , and the only ones with a certificate ofiron purity over 99%
- . The best!
- They are iron pans, so they can rust. How to avoid it? Avoid prolonged contact with water, don’t let them air dry: simply dry them with a cloth after washing. If you want, you can leave them on low heat for a few minutes to fully evaporate moisture while you finish cooking (a very easy and useful trick).
- If you’re going to leave them unused for many days, you can apply a little oil and spread it over the surface with a paper towel, but it’s not essential.
- Before first use, it’s very useful to season them. This seasoning makes them naturally more non-stick. Seasoning is super simple. Watch the video among the photos to learn how.
- You have a pan for life! You can scrub it with a soft sponge or wash it with steel wool if needed to remove stuck food, and nothing will happen to the pan! (there’s no non-stick coating to damage). They can turn black, evenly or in patches. Don’t worry, the blacker they get, the better they perform. If rust spots appear, wipe them with a paper towel and oil, and you’ll see them disappear like magic. If the rusted area is bigger, use steel wool without fear..
- Nothing will happen; it’s a completely iron pan: under the iron layer, there’s more iron
| If you’ve had to scrub it with steel wool or just want to, you can season it again, but it’s not at all necessary to do it regularly. |
